Q: Static QR?
I basically used this app for static QR codes. I want to know if this feature has now become more complicated. It used to be very simple. Now, from what I can see, it has lost its ease of use. To use it, you have to use the API. I want the ease of use it had before. Plus, they don't even explain how to use it. Honestly, I'm very unhappy.

Jan 26, 2026A: Hi Sandrita, thank you for your feedback!
We understand your concern. Here's what happened:
Why we merged static into dynamic:
Based on feedback from many users, static QR codes were causing confusion. Users would create a static QR, print it on business cards or products, and later realize they couldn't edit or track it — leading to frustration and reprinting costs. Dynamic QR codes solve this by allowing edits anytime without reprinting.
Static QR is still available:
We heard our users! After receiving requests from the community, we brought static QR codes back through our API v3. We always listen to our users' needs, and this feature was added specifically because people asked for it. Documentation: https://app.elkqr.com/docs
A note about static QR codes:
Static QR codes simply encode data directly into the pattern (like a URL or phone number). This is a basic feature that many free tools can do. The real value of ElkQR is in dynamic features — analytics, editing, scheduling, password protection, and more — which static codes cannot offer.
Our recommendation:
Dynamic QR codes work exactly the same when scanned — your customers won't notice any difference. The benefit is you get full analytics and can update the destination anytime without reprinting.
