Q: Why the Limit?
Hi! Trying to understand the why Emailpref has a limit for contact, when it only acts as a middleman between subscribers and newsletters system (Mailchimp etc)..
If you could explain a bit how the contacts limit work please? Thanks!

To be able to show your contacts preference we need to sync their data with our system, we are able to synchronise their preferences by having a copy and then pushing these updates to all systems involved even if those systems are facing problems (like an API going down for example). It would be impossible for us to pull this data live from all systems involved because of how 3rd party systems like Mailchimp work with rate limits.
This is a topic I love btw and I can go on and on talking about the why's but I won't bore you too much more about it, Let's say that without saving this data locally it would be impossible to offer a reliable service :)

So EmailPref is basically managing the newsletter segmentation externally, and therefore needs a live connection so to speak...
