Still on the Fence...
I loved the idea of this app when I saw it on AppSumo. I thought it would save me some time. However, once I purchased I noticed that I have to complete an job application each time I want emails created, and some seem off the marker for me. When a sequence is created the subject and body are in two boxes, so for me to save them I have to click twice there. I just not 100% sold on this app yet.

Jun 27, 2024Hey Sade,
Thanks for your review.
Please, kindly note that EmailWritr has about 5 different parts...
1. The part where you'll have to answer some questions, and it'll use the answers you've provided to generate emails for you (this uses our own algorithm)
2. The Part where you can access quality prewritten email templates, then customize it yourself to suit your use case,
3. The AI part, where you'll just tell our AI robot what you want, and it'll create the sequences for you.
And other types too.
Now, in this case, I think you're talking about the first part where you have to answer some questions. The (Human Copywriter) part
Sometimes, those questions that you're required to answer for this Human Copywriter might make it look like it's difficult, as it'll require that you have a better knowledge of your offer to be able to use it.
However, we have a hint on each box, which would help you to know the type of answers to provide.
But then, do not forget that this isn't the only option we have.
You can still use the AI part, which works so well and doesn't require you to answer any questions rather, you'll just use the framework we've built.
Ideally, you can also reach out to us via support at support@emailwritr.com.
If you encounter any challenge during the course of creating emails using any of those options I mentioned, just reach out to use using the email above and we'll be more than happy to assist you.
I hope this helps?
Take care

Two tacos for poor writing. Not at all ready for any automated reply
I'm really curious what some of these glowing reviews are using this platform for, because it's extremely limited in the value you get. At the current state, there's no reason to use this over a GPT like OpenAI or Claude. The amount of time you have to invest in getting this to work well could be put towards training your own GPT.
There's only these categories in the sequences, and if you don't fit into them... well you're gonna have a bad time (list is at the end of review). I have a B2B company that doesn't fit in any of these, and as such I was spending more time editing copy to fit than I should have.
The second problem comes with the actual sequences. There's no B2B sales sequences available in the Human Copywriting. So I selected category "Other" and then went to look at the available sequence types and they're mostly for newsletters or ecomm converting.
The questions asked were pretty good, so I'm happy with how the process worked out - EXCEPT I ran into the same issue as others. I lost everything I saved. So about 30 minutes in, my cat ran across the keyboard and F5, and all my answers were gone and I had to start from scratch including the previous pages submitted answers
So how's the copy?
It's pretty mediocre/bad and very clearly GPT written. It's super cheesy marketing speak and for a selected "conversational" tone, there was nothing conversational. I've never seen "apt" used so many times in one email.
The other thing is some of the things written were SO bad. here's an example of some output:
~~~
"Hi [firstname]
I’ve come to understand that to they are not able to get over deeply rooted insecurities & elevate their confidence & self esteem has always been a pain in the ass for most Women out there
Despite that there are a lot of self-acclaimed expert coaches out there teaching how to Empowering women to break unhealthy cycles, overcome anxiety & negative self-talk, low self-esteem, over-emotionalizing & deeply rooted insecurities. Giving women authenticity, confidence, positive thought patterns, radical self-love, heart healing, raising emotional intelligence, stress response re-setting & releasing anxiety., most Women are still finding it difficult to attain self worth, self esteem and self-love"
~~~
That's one example, here's another:
~~~
"Hey {!firstname_fix},
Right now, you’re probably thinking…
“Carolina Stukenberg, how can I be sure that The REAL UnlimitedYOU : Confidence, Radical Self love & Free : Transforming Self-Esteem, Stress, & Emotions will help me to Empowering women to break unhealthy cycles, overcome anxiety & negative self-talk, low self-esteem, over-emotionalizing & deeply rooted insecurities. Giving women authenticity, confidence, positive thought patterns, radical self-love, heart healing, raising emotional intelligence, stress response re-setting & releasing anxiety.?”
And it’s not only you. Every now and then, people ask to see proof that the Video training works!
That’s why, instead of saying “Trust me,” I’d rather allow my people who have gotten access to The REAL UnlimitedYOU : Confidence, Radical Self love & Free : Transforming Self-Esteem, Stress, & Emotions (my life-changing coaching program) to do the talking."
~~~
As you can see, this copy is bad. The grammar is also bad. Whoever trained this has a very rudimentary understanding of the written english language and does not know how to use the comma ( , ). I wouldn't trust this to write and represent my brand.
Great idea, but underwhelming execution.
Advice to the EmailWritr Team:
- Hire a better copywriter. Hire more than one, then have them check eachother's work.
- Update your training section, the videos are all 480p quality and you can't see anything because it's either thumbnail sized or fullscreen and blurry
- Break down your emails into B2B and B2C and see what you come up with. Your B2B outside of SaaS is mostly all the same stuff
- Focus on your core product - copy, before doing all these integrations etc.

May 31, 2024Hey,
I’m so sorry to hear that you didn’t see a category that fits your business and that you lost all your answers while creating a sequence.
There’s a general category that can be used to create emails that can fit any industry, business, or product/service. PLUS you can tell us the type of B2B Company you have and we’ll add it to our software.
Now, I think you lost your answers because you refreshed the page. And our software was built in a way that once a user refreshes or reloads the page; he will have to start afresh.
Talking about the copy, it’s not GPT written as you mentioned. Remember that the first version of EmailWritr was built way before GPT and other similar AI platforms came into the scene. That’s why our software had only the ‘Human Copywriter’ section back then.
The algorithm that powers this section of EmailWritr was created by a team of copywriters with many years of experience in writing high-converting emails. Some of these copywriters have written emails for some big-name marketers.
Looking at the sample outputs you posted above, I can see that the problem came from the way you answered the questions the software asked you.
For example, the part that reads “…there are a lot of coaches out there teaching how to Empowering women…” should be “…there are a lot of coaches out there teaching how to Empower women…”.
The sentence is bad in your output because you used ‘empowering’ where you are supposed to use ‘empower’.
To help users use the right words and tenses when creating their sequences, there are placeholder texts and hints in each input field they are supposed to fill. And if you answer the questions the way the placeholder texts are written, the output emails you’ll get will be perfect.
Finally, I appreciate your advice and suggestions. I have forwarded the suggestions to our founder and dev team. So, I believe we’ll start implementing them soon.
But before that is done, we would like to make your experience with our software a better one.
Do you have time to jump on a call with one of our team members? The person will walk you through how to create high-converting emails for your B2B company with EmailWritr

Get this nugget !
I think EmailWritr is a 'must have' if you are doing any email communication at all.
- hers why:
Over the last couple of years, I've gotten 5-6 different email writer apps, a couple of them quite expensive but good, others less but well focused on a niche part of emails marketing.
- but when the AI hit, it seemed that most got really confused and "went and threw spaghetti on walls in all directions - to survive", some did better and some just exposed the confusion about it all.
Very few kind of had an idea of what the "writing emails" in a commercial manner was about - what job emails has in the communication & business processes - from sign up & welcome, to promoting, selling and followoing up etc..
- It showed that mostly the founders was strictly tech guys, with a bit insights into copy or copy writers with just some tech knowledge, - so that showed in the "after- or di I say middle-match..) now we've got a bit more understanding of how things are shaping up, and we got a better view.
Here Peter, Augustine and their teem, shows that they get both copy writing, and how copy writing works in communicating & business processes, plus - have the tech chops to deliver a superb app / UX experience with overview, so the email tools are easy to use - have the right mix of AI & human.
- so also showing that they are here to stay even all the AI getting better all the time - due to they demonstrate useful insights in AI and how to deploy it so it helps the right way, instead of either you use it (and it takes over a big part of the writing - and the copy becomes more generic, or more ort less similar to some other given brands you tried to emulate, - so nit "you-style". Or you are left behind with more standardized copy.
Here they demonstrate that they master copy, emails, tech & AI - and got the vision to shape it all to deliver a tool that is easy to use and really helps in the email writing processes. And oh, They do response & customer support a best in class level.
- Only one small suggestion: implement a "buy one time pay" extra AI tokens as you go ex. packages 1000 / 2500 / 5000 etc. I get that heavy users either buy top tier or ppl with a bit more advanced AI skills already got an Key to several AI's, so BYOK is easy for them.
But my guess is that the trend regarding AI is that there is still a lot of copy & email writers (who has not already gotten an AI account & API, Keys and all) would like to just be able to buy a top up tokne's inside the app, will even pay 5-10% more than "base price" for the option to not have to go and get an specific AI account & install the Key, if they a few times / months need more AI tokens than normal.
:-)

Maybe don't trust the "saved projects" capability...
I was liking the set up of the email templates and could see how it's mapped out. I was using the emails in one of the sequences, worked hard on filling in the [brackets] and thinking up pain points, benefits, features, and then their explanations, and then...gone.
I saved this project a couple times - once originally from writing the first email. And then going back into it to write the second email. It's possible that the 1st email was gone when I went back in to write the 2nd email in the sequence. But after I "Updaetd Project" to save it, having wanting to save it first before copy/pasting things out of there, I went back in to grab them and they are gone. They are back to their original templates with the brackets and NONE of my work is in there.
I went to my Saved Projects and clicked the writing icon to edit it and - nothing. It's just the regular templates again. I am SO disappointed. I am a HUGE believer in reliability and dependability of a tool. If I can rely on it to do what it does and what it says it does, it's earned my trust. But if it does not accomplish what it claims to do - in this case, saving projects - then I have a grudge and will likely not use it anymore because I don't trust it.
I'm not sure if it's just happening to me, or others haven't quite noticed their projects gone either, or maybe I'm just that unlucky random person that tech attacked, or maybe they really don't save projects. But don't trust the capability of saving your project.
The only reason why I doubled up on tiers was the ability to have Saved Email Banks and now...useless. Very disappointed. I hope it's hiding somewhere and that I'm proven wrong! I really don't want to be right in this instance!

May 29, 2024Hey Richies,
I'm sorry about your experience. Usually, we'd help you rectify it immediately if you had reached out to us via support, but you didn't, instead, you posted your complaints here.
On the other hand, we didn't know you dropped a review here since our deal had already ended.
Also, I remember we later helped you rectify it when you reached out.
I just found out we didn't reply to this, so I'm doing that now so other customers don't feel like we ignored it because it was a 2-star review.
Regardless, thanks for your review.

Cold emails in a snap
It produces emails that are captivating and go straight to the point. I greatly appreciate that it doesn't use AI by default. I am not a fan of AI since it tends to use common patterns that are not attractive to break the ice.
