Two tacos for poor writing. Not at all ready for any automated reply
I'm really curious what some of these glowing reviews are using this platform for, because it's extremely limited in the value you get. At the current state, there's no reason to use this over a GPT like OpenAI or Claude. The amount of time you have to invest in getting this to work well could be put towards training your own GPT.
There's only these categories in the sequences, and if you don't fit into them... well you're gonna have a bad time (list is at the end of review). I have a B2B company that doesn't fit in any of these, and as such I was spending more time editing copy to fit than I should have.
The second problem comes with the actual sequences. There's no B2B sales sequences available in the Human Copywriting. So I selected category "Other" and then went to look at the available sequence types and they're mostly for newsletters or ecomm converting.
The questions asked were pretty good, so I'm happy with how the process worked out - EXCEPT I ran into the same issue as others. I lost everything I saved. So about 30 minutes in, my cat ran across the keyboard and F5, and all my answers were gone and I had to start from scratch including the previous pages submitted answers
So how's the copy?
It's pretty mediocre/bad and very clearly GPT written. It's super cheesy marketing speak and for a selected "conversational" tone, there was nothing conversational. I've never seen "apt" used so many times in one email.
The other thing is some of the things written were SO bad. here's an example of some output:
~~~
"Hi [firstname]
I’ve come to understand that to they are not able to get over deeply rooted insecurities & elevate their confidence & self esteem has always been a pain in the ass for most Women out there
Despite that there are a lot of self-acclaimed expert coaches out there teaching how to Empowering women to break unhealthy cycles, overcome anxiety & negative self-talk, low self-esteem, over-emotionalizing & deeply rooted insecurities. Giving women authenticity, confidence, positive thought patterns, radical self-love, heart healing, raising emotional intelligence, stress response re-setting & releasing anxiety., most Women are still finding it difficult to attain self worth, self esteem and self-love"
~~~
That's one example, here's another:
~~~
"Hey {!firstname_fix},
Right now, you’re probably thinking…
“Carolina Stukenberg, how can I be sure that The REAL UnlimitedYOU : Confidence, Radical Self love & Free : Transforming Self-Esteem, Stress, & Emotions will help me to Empowering women to break unhealthy cycles, overcome anxiety & negative self-talk, low self-esteem, over-emotionalizing & deeply rooted insecurities. Giving women authenticity, confidence, positive thought patterns, radical self-love, heart healing, raising emotional intelligence, stress response re-setting & releasing anxiety.?”
And it’s not only you. Every now and then, people ask to see proof that the Video training works!
That’s why, instead of saying “Trust me,” I’d rather allow my people who have gotten access to The REAL UnlimitedYOU : Confidence, Radical Self love & Free : Transforming Self-Esteem, Stress, & Emotions (my life-changing coaching program) to do the talking."
~~~
As you can see, this copy is bad. The grammar is also bad. Whoever trained this has a very rudimentary understanding of the written english language and does not know how to use the comma ( , ). I wouldn't trust this to write and represent my brand.
Great idea, but underwhelming execution.
Advice to the EmailWritr Team:
- Hire a better copywriter. Hire more than one, then have them check eachother's work.
- Update your training section, the videos are all 480p quality and you can't see anything because it's either thumbnail sized or fullscreen and blurry
- Break down your emails into B2B and B2C and see what you come up with. Your B2B outside of SaaS is mostly all the same stuff
- Focus on your core product - copy, before doing all these integrations etc.

May 31, 2024Hey,
I’m so sorry to hear that you didn’t see a category that fits your business and that you lost all your answers while creating a sequence.
There’s a general category that can be used to create emails that can fit any industry, business, or product/service. PLUS you can tell us the type of B2B Company you have and we’ll add it to our software.
Now, I think you lost your answers because you refreshed the page. And our software was built in a way that once a user refreshes or reloads the page; he will have to start afresh.
Talking about the copy, it’s not GPT written as you mentioned. Remember that the first version of EmailWritr was built way before GPT and other similar AI platforms came into the scene. That’s why our software had only the ‘Human Copywriter’ section back then.
The algorithm that powers this section of EmailWritr was created by a team of copywriters with many years of experience in writing high-converting emails. Some of these copywriters have written emails for some big-name marketers.
Looking at the sample outputs you posted above, I can see that the problem came from the way you answered the questions the software asked you.
For example, the part that reads “…there are a lot of coaches out there teaching how to Empowering women…” should be “…there are a lot of coaches out there teaching how to Empower women…”.
The sentence is bad in your output because you used ‘empowering’ where you are supposed to use ‘empower’.
To help users use the right words and tenses when creating their sequences, there are placeholder texts and hints in each input field they are supposed to fill. And if you answer the questions the way the placeholder texts are written, the output emails you’ll get will be perfect.
Finally, I appreciate your advice and suggestions. I have forwarded the suggestions to our founder and dev team. So, I believe we’ll start implementing them soon.
But before that is done, we would like to make your experience with our software a better one.
Do you have time to jump on a call with one of our team members? The person will walk you through how to create high-converting emails for your B2B company with EmailWritr
