No Event triggers
AppSumo page says “Best for: SaaS” but doesn’t mention the deal excludes the Ingest API (event tracking) - the ONE feature custom automation requires a lot.
I bought this specifically for API-driven workflows and event-based automation. These limitations are buried in the Q&A section, NOT on the main sales page. Only after purchasing did I discover:
❌ No Ingest API (can’t track user behavior)
❌ No event-based segmentation
❌ REST API “unsupported” on LTD
This is Growth plan with artificial restrictions - features that exist but are intentionally locked behind $879/month Premium upgrades.
Other frustrated buyers have asked Encharge to “be transparent on AppSumo” about these limitations [see Q&A].
If you’re a developer/SaaS founder expecting full API access for automation, this deal is a bait-and-switch.
For basic email broadcasts? Fine. For actual SaaS automation? Save your codes.

You’re right that the Ingest API (event tracking) and event-based segmentation are not included in the 2025 AppSumo LTD. These are part of our Premium plan, which starts at $879/month, and they’ve always been excluded from the lifetime deal. That said, I completely get how frustrating it is to discover that after purchase — especially if event triggers were the main thing you were looking for.
That said, just to be fair to the broader context: most of these limitations were shared clearly in the FAQs, the Q&A section, and the feature comparison link (https://encharge.io/pricing). They weren’t hidden, but we definitely agree that they weren’t shown front and center on the sales bullets — and that’s something we’ll try to improve on next round. Appreciate the nudge on that.
Some added notes for anyone else reading:
• The REST API is actually available in the LTD — it was originally going to be blocked, but we decided to leave it open. So you can trigger flows, create/update contacts, and build some powerful automations — just not behavior/event-based ones.
• The 2025 LTD is mapped to our Growth plan, which gives you unlimited emails, flows, forms, team members, broadcasts, segmentation, and a lot more — for a one-time price.
• For anyone who does need access to event triggers or other Premium features, we offer a 50% discount on monthly Premium plans — you’ll find that inside your Encharge account under Billing → Upgrade.
