Really looking forward to rolling it out at an upcoming event
I had looked for something exactly like Engagenow multiple times over the last few years to collect feedback during conferences and workshops, so I was thrilled when I saw what it could do. In the past, I’ve always ended up hacking something together. I didn’t play with forms yet, just Engagenow.
Things I love about it
- How quickly you can set it up. If you already know the content you want to put into it, It’s really quick to create a quiz.
- How customizable everything is - There are a lot of different options for design built it which is nice as well as the text that is displayed on the tabs etc.
- The ability to toggle the answers and lock the ability to submit an answer on the fly. I really like that you can show the question but hold off on accepting answers until you’re ready. I tested this one out and the toggles work perfectly. There is virtually no lag between when you enable accept answers and when the audience member can actually submit the answer.
- The live chat on the side of the questions is great, I really like having that.
- Searching in Google Images from inside the app is a great way to quickly grab an image for your quiz or form.
- How fast the app is. This app is seriously quick. Moving between slides or questions to edit, responds more like a desktop app as it’s almost instant. I’ve come to really appreciate the speed of an app lately as a few apps I love are slow that I hate using them.
Things I’d love to see added
- More themes/templates - Even though it’s easy to edit the templates. I don’t really like the default themes out of the box. They mostly look the same to me except for the background images, I’d love if there were more options.
- More font options - It would be great if Google Fonts support was added or there was a way to add certain fonts to our account. Also, if you could use different fonts or at least different weights for the header and description.
- I really like the live chat, but I don’t like that you need to login to Facebook to comment and I REALLY don’t like that it asks you to share your entire friend list. It would be great if there were other ways to sign to comment
- The ability to post anonymously. Even if you have to sign in to comment, it would be great if there was a way that an audience member could ask a question without their name showing on the screen. In my experience at conferences, a lot of audience members have questions but are either too afraid to ask or don’t want people to know they have questions.
- it would be great to have moderation for comments/questions before they go live. So that if you were using it for a QA session with a large number of people, a moderator could go through and filter any duplicates etc.
- Upvoting and downvoting on comments would also be a great addition
Overall I really like it. Really looking forward to rolling it out at an upcoming event.

May 9, 2024Hi Rick, first thank you for feedback and 5 tacos review! In terms of things that you mentioned that should be added:
- We plan to add more design options
- Option to login to chat using for example nickname is on our roadmap and will be launched soon: http://bit.ly/engagenow-roadmap
- In terms of moderation, you can set premoderation mode in Manage-Chat so if this is enabled it will not show message until you accept in console
- Upvoting on comments...yes we need to add this definitely :)
