Q: What is a workspace?

I'm having trouble understanding the usage of a 'workspace'. Is a workspace equal to a folder? Just a way of putting related content into a folder? Or is a workspace equal to a 'client'. For example, say I have several clients and I want to keep all content related to a specific client separated from other clients? And if a 'workspace' equates to a client, do I still have the ability to organize content within a workspace into different folders?

A: Folders are on the roadmap but a "workspace" is just a way you can organize your saved content in the Content Planner for focused work. These are tags you add to saved content so that only that content with a specific tag is shown in the Content Planner. The Content Planner is a Notion like interface with all your content.

Thanks for the reply @larry. If I read your reply correctly, a 'workspace' is essentially a tag. I know in the content planner there are tags that I can apply to any of my planner content. So each tag is a 'workspace'?

If that's so, then I'm really confused by the AppSumo Tier plans. Tier 1 = 1 workspace, Tier 2 = 2 workspaces, Tier 3 = 3 workspaces, etc. Tier 1 = 1 tag only?

Just another note as I see the confusion due to wording. Workspaces are listed as stackable options. In that context they are additional accounts - or workspaces. A focused "workspace" can also be created in the Content Planner via Tags which was my default answer. Hope this helps.

I'm interested in the same thing - i bought one tier to check it out, i like what i see, but i find no workspace - but I also saw the tag opportunity in research. Even if I work myself through the software, I can't answer myself what a workspace is and why I would need more.. ?!

You would only need more if you wanted more accounts, say for business purposes. Workspaces for our purposes here are two things; one is the workspace a user can create with tags for different focus views in the Content Planner. But a seperate account can also be a separate workspace for another user if someone "stacks" or buys more codes which are usually used for creating more accounts.

Hey guys. Yeah. That’s correct but when you click on a tag only that content tagged will show. Effectively a focused “workspace”

Ah okay, I though that a workspace is a set of tags. So you can tag unlimited inside a workspace. In my head a workspace is like a folder with unlimited tags inside.

Thanks Larry for the clarification. The term 'workspace' was certainly confusing. Personally, I don't think 'workspace' is the correct term to use either for the AppSumo stack term nor the tags term. For the AppSumo stack I would use "Accounts" as they are separate accounts, and I would use 'Tags' for the tagging capability.

Also, is there a way to select more than one tag at a time for filter?
