Has Potential But Not At Pro Level Yet

I have spent three days testing these plugins in multiple situations. When it comes to this being a pro plugin it has the potential but leaves much to be desired.

Manual Backup: It's simple and gets the job done. But for a pro plugin, there is no way to select which tables in the database to back up. Does it backup all the tables in the database or does it only backup the WordPress tables? There is no checkbox to select other non-WordPress tables. When you select Other (Files), what are these files? Are these all the files or folders in the root directory? If so, I have no way of cherry-picking them from a UI. This leaves users blind and concerned as to the lack of control over them. Also, cloud storage upload should be part of the backup sequence in the modal to monitor the upload and confirm the upload is finished without issues. If there is an issue with the upload where, when, and how is this issue notified?

Schedule Backup: A typical pro feature but has the same issues as the Manual Backup. Also, the Monthly and weekly scheduling does not allow you to select the numbered day of the month or day of the week to schedule the backup. You are basically that on the day you scheduled the backup. There is also no option to set incremental backups.

Automatic Backup: A must-have for a pro backup system. However, even though I enabled all the backups the Automatic Backup didn't work when updating from the Updates page. Also, according to the "Backup Includes" icon, the WordPress core files are not backed up before the update. Only the database is backed up, which is useless if a rollback is needed.

Migration/Clone: Another must-have pro feature. This feature worked flawlessly when cloning from one server to another but failed miserably when deploying from a local server to a staging or production server. Attempting to clone a local site to a clean install on another server wouldn’t verify the new site. This is not an issue with other pro backup plugins like UpdraftPlus or WPVivid.

Cloud Storage: I use the pCloud add-on to store the off-site backups of the websites I manage. The setup connecting and the backups had no issues. However, I can't set a sub-folder under the default folder created after the add-on connected to my cloud storage. If you are using this on multiple sites all the backups are dropped into this default folder, preventing me from segregating the backups by site. So, you can't differentiate which backup goes to which site. Other previously mentioned Pro plugins allow this option.

Backups (General): There is no option to set the number of backups to keep before they are replaced by newer backups in either of the backup types. There is no option to split the backups into separate files and set the size limit to save on server resources or try to upload to the cloud storage.

Hello,
Thank you for your valuable time, let me explain on the basis of your quarries.

Manual Backup:
We are planning to enhance our manual backup feature, allowing you to choose specific tables in the database for backup, including files and folders.

Cloud Uploads:
Currently, a log file is generated after the cloud upload process. This log file helps identify issues with uploads. We are considering an improvement in this process.

Scheduled Backup:
We have plans to implement incremental backups. Regarding fixed intervals for monthly or weekly backups, that's on our roadmap ( https://roadmap.wpeverestbackup.com/ )

Automatic Backup:
You don't need to back up WordPress Core files since they are always available. We've focused on backing up critical files / database that affect your website's to restore in case of problems.

Migration/Clone:
You can easily migrate or clone from one site to another. However, moving from a local server to a staging or production (live site) is not possible in this case; you must use the upload method to transfer backup files.

Cloud Storage:
We are preparing to deploy sub-folder features in our upcoming versions.

Thank you for your valuable feedback and contributions. We are continuously growing, and soon we will fulfill these features. Our primary goal is to resolve backup and migration issues within the WordPress ecosystem.
