Q: Hi there, we are currently using Cloudflare as our CDN and for image optimization we use Smush.
1. What are the differences of your service to Smush?
2. How would your service interact with out CDN setup with cloudflare?
3. Is your tool also processing images which are imported images via the wp_insert_post function
4. On Bunny CDN
- How about the 200GB bandwidth. How is this calculated?
- What are the general rules of the deal for CDN usage and when would we face additional costs and how much would this be?
Thanks for clarifying
Best

May 14, 2024A: Hi Sven,
Thanks for the questions!
1. Generally we don't go in for comparisons, as, really they come down to subjective differences, otherwise they do the same thing. Our CDN automatically optimizes images as your site is viewed and we think that's pretty cool. It can also optimize your local images to save you space on your server. And it also comes with our SWIS Performance plugin which can help with your JS/CSS management.
2. Without getting into it too much, you can use both Cloudflare and another CDN (such as our Easy IO). Cloudflare is a different kind of CDN focused on security.
3. It should, as it should trigger the same wp_generate_attachment_metadata hook. In short, as long as thumbnails are being generated, then EWWW IO will run.
4. a. The bandwidth is a rolling calculation of your last 30 days usage of what passes through the CDN.
4. b. We aren't real sticklers for the bandwidth, however, we want to be communicated with on what's going on. Should you exceed the bandwidth, you will receive an automated email that provides options, but we would want to hear from you. If it's a temporary thing, we can probably work with that (as we have a built-in buffer). If it's that business is growing (yay!), then we have special expansion options for AppSumo folks that we would suggest.
Hopefully those answers help!
