first of all, thank you so much for getting ExpertSlides. I am Lukas, co-founder of the tool and I would love to answer all your questions:
1.) No, you don’t (luckily). You can use the free Microsoft Office version online: https://www.microsoft.com/microsoft-365/free-office-online-for-the-web
2.) See Question 1
3.) Currently we only operate on PowerPoint since Microsoft is our main partner. A Google slides extension is in the making but will be released next year. If you are using PowerPoint online, you can also enable auto-save functions, similar to Google. Overall PowerPoint offers more functionalities than Google, that is why we decided to partner up with them, but of course everyone has different preferences.
4.) Open a new presentation and go to Insert -> Get Add-Ins-> Search for ExpertSlides -> and add it to PowerPoint
