TL;DR: 1) I bought a tier 2 deal that says "All future Unlimited Plan updates." 2) ezcourse's Unlimited plan now includes features that they want to charge significant amounts for me to use. 3) Ergo, bait and switch.
I really wanted to like ezcourse but it's a scam – buy in, and then they keep charging you more to get the features you actually need to use it.
The appsumo deal said I would get "All future Unlimited Plan updates." And the Unlimited Plan on their site (https://ezycourse.com/pricing?plan=year) has a bunch of features I want to use. Some are basic requirements for any course or community, and others are nice-to-haves. But all are included in the current Unlimited Plan.
But according to ezcourse, I need to pay outlandish fees for each of them.
For example: I want community participants to be able to chat with each other. But that'll cost me an additional $550 for lifetime access. Push notifications cost an additional $123. White-labeled apps? Extra $2,590!
And again: the AppSumo deal said I'd get "All future Unlimited Plan updates." And again: all of these are listed as free with the current Unlimited Plan. 🤔
Seems pretty clear that they're not honoring what I purchased, so I chatted with a very agressive customer service rep named "Mujakkir" jut now. Absolutely useless transcript is below.
I'm going to ask AppSumo to intervene or issue a refund. But I assume I've lost the money, as I'm not willing to pay significantly more to use the features I bought.

I've been using this for several months, maybe a year so far. The LMS is excellent. Sure there are a few snags, but no deal breakers. I have contacted support (thank you for your patience with me Shakil) and they have always been there with an answer. If the answer was not immediate, it came within a few days. So I have to say their support is excellent. I love the ease of use of the system. Things work like they should for the most part. The classes look fantastic to students, and the course pages look very professional too.
What would I improve? The list is small: 1) autosave my work, yes; 2) an easier way to sort, manage and find content once it is uploaded; and 3) that the screen resizes to my browser screen (I often miss content on the right side of my screen because I need to scroll right and it gets missed). These things are small. I've tried all the big LMS systems and frankly, we just can't afford them. This product is a welcome player in the market. We have not used their membership features yet but they seem to add good value to an already great product. Well done EzyCourse team.
2 months in. I have built an entire site. The functionality is fine, the support is fine, but ONE deal breaker issue that they will not seem to fix.They will not or cannot do something to fix the most awful editor I have ever used. It's absolutely terrible. Breaks, loses hours of work with errors and page fails, broken templates that simply revert back to template once you have edited them ( so you have to start again) no autosave. All this on a brand new Mac M2. Nothing should be this painful to use. I have asked them to confirm they are replacing this junk with something better or I'll move to another platform

This really an excellent bit of software and I would have given it 5 tacos had the tech support been better. having said that, I had very limited need for tech support because there are a lot of videos that have been made. The only thing I would change - which is definitely not a reason not to go ahead - is that once you have created a section inside your module, you can change the order of things but you CAN'T move a subheading from one chapter to another. This 'problem' is not unique to Ezycourse as I have found it on other software too. However, everything else really is excellent and I am very pleased indeed with my purchase.

Using it for one month - The EDITOR is AWFUL
2 months in. I have built an entire site. The functionality is fine, the support is fine, but ONE deal breaker issue that they will not seem to fix.They will not or cannot do something to fix the most awful editor I have ever used.
