Great tool for quickly creating an e-book
Firstbook.ai is a great tool for quickly creating an e-book. It is not suitable for incorporating and processing larger knowledge bases. The resulting text is, to my humble opinion, of upper-middle quality.
For my needs, the results were too rigid and too prescriptive. For example, I couldn’t change the structure as I pleased, as I usually can when interacting with AI, but could only regenerate it. Also, you can only edit individual chapters.
One issue is that the examples I provided were used multiple times in different chapters without building on each other or establishing a connection.
In a test project, I built upon the generated text and had to make so many changes that I didn’t save any time. For my needs, it makes more sense to generate the text in advance and have it proofread by the AI.
If someone wants to generate e-books without contributing much knowledge themselves, Firstbook.AI is a sensible solution.

Jul 14, 2026Thanks for the review. This is exactly the kind of feedback that helps us improve, so I appreciate the time you put into it.
A couple of things worth clarifying, because the tool does a bit more than came through:
On structure and editing, you can regenerate individual chapters with new direction, and you can edit the text directly within each chapter, so it's not fully locked.
What you can't yet do is freely restructure the whole outline mid-flow the way you can in an open-ended AI chat. That kind of non-linear control is something we're actively building toward.
On the repeated examples across chapters, that's genuinely useful feedback and something we're working to improve so material builds and connects rather than repeating.
Your read on where the tool fits is fair. It's built to take you from blank page to a full structured draft fast. For someone who already has deep material and a fixed structure in mind, a generate-first-then-refine workflow can suit better, exactly as you found.
One thing worth a look: our Skool community has a full course on getting the most out of the setup, especially around voice and chapter direction. It's free for all users and helps with some of the friction you ran into.
Thanks again for the thoughtful review. Feedback like yours directly shapes what we prioritise.
Best,
Casper
