Q: Is it possible to export/download some version of the project file to my local hard drive?
A version that could possibly be imported into a desktop video editing program in an emergency situation? I wouldn't want to lose old projects in case Flixier goes down for some reason.

That is not possible, we have something like that but it's a super experimental feature mostly a fun thing we did on a few weekends, definitely not something for you to use on a daily basis. This is hard to pull of because we had to write our own project and rendering settings to be speed and cloud focused which makes it hard to be compatible with desktop editing software.

Thanks for the honest response. The issue is not unique to Flixier - it's a problem with cloud computing in general. I'm someone who likes to ensure I have back up processes but I know all computing is moving online. I'll still give Flixier a try. It looks very interesting.
