Switching from Kajabi
OK this is try number 3 to write a review because I’m not great at tech and keep clicking out (I know, what am I doing on AppSumo…). So here are the big themes:
If you are a course creator, BUY FORENTO.
Pros /
+ Fairly easy website builder with decent templates even for a noob like me
+ very easy to edit website for mobile
+ very easy to add multi-lingual site switcher (though no auto translate or auto-build as a starting place in other languages)
++++ Can save blocks in the website builder to use on other pages (eat it, kajabi)
+ great all-in-one features (membership, community, events) with all video conferencing integrating to other platforms (zoom / tidycal for 1:1 / whatever)
+ Easy to build courses, with modules and lessons though their vocabulary is a little different
+ Seems focused on what they do well right now and building intentionally instead of trying to do EVERYTHING
+ I’m excited to see how events and video-conferencing will evolve
+ I’m actually just really excited to see how the whole thing will step into the big time - it’s already outperforming other platforms while in beta. That’s BIG stuff.
Less-than-awesomes /
- Not a CRM
- Course emails don’t include progress emails / check-ins
——- Can’t drip course modules yet (as of mid-march 2024)
- Course customer interface is useable but weird for the moment
- Can’t import a blog, but does have a blog feature called articles
- It would be nice to have an obvious link to the article manager from the home page (as you’re adding features you might have to organize the user menu differently like big headline categories with sub options?)

I would love to see a checklist of how to more easily move from Kajabi. It will help me understand the elements available in Forento as well as what I need outside (CRM, videoconferencing, etc.), as well as helping me align my logic and processes with your logic and product to make everything as robust as possible. Your ICA are educators - we love to learn, too!
Bottom line /
BUY IT. I see it more as the hub of your tech stack (or tree trunk of courses because I’m not totally sure I’m using “tech stack” correctly) as a course creator rather than a true all-in-one and I’m still trying to figure out the rest (mostly email right now), but I’m leaning in. These people seem serious and what works already actually works. One month of Kajabi for a lifetime deal - with features that even in beta outperform Kajabi. Seriously. Get it.
