For faaaaaar from the first time, a company that got its start with early AppSumo support and money (and was later acquired for a hefty sum) has decided to launch a "V2" and, in the process, disingenuously claim that "this is a fundamentally different product, built up from scratch! Honest, this is TOTALLY different, that's why we're calling it V2." (yes DigitalFirst.ai, we see you).

Now, after years of customer feedback and iteration + participation in the Frase Facebook group, Frase has run a spectacularly-cowardly rug pull that included a strategic, cynical shutting down of their user Facebook group just prior to the news of V2 being released. No warning, no transition plan, no porting of LTDs, just... "whoosh".

Now when you contact support, they're very insistent indeed that "trust us, nothing's being taken away".

When I inform them that the reason they give for launching this 'new version' of the product is that the original is redundant in the era of Gen AI, and that that is explicitly an argument for the product now being vapourware that will no longer get their team's focus and dev time, that means that something very real is being taken away - and a deal not honoured.

A word for Noah and the AS team - if you keep allowing vendors (this has happened to me at least 6 times now) to pull unethical moves like this, I, and many other customers, will no longer be sending money your way.
