Q: [ Roles & Permissions ] ----------------------------- You're marketing as a AT alternative according to the ...
copy, and while you do have several key features that AT has (including things like relational db's, formula's, and rollups), I don't see any mention of different User Roles and Permissions.
AT has the following roles:
🔸 Owner/Creator
🔸 Editor
🔸 Commentor
🔸 Read Only
However, the big downside to AT's Roles/Permissions is that they start to fall apart completely when users move to paid plans, especially if they had a bunch of free users that might only need to have limited commenting abilities (not adding/editing).
I don't see any mention of different permission levels in Fusioo. Is this something that you're planning to add if it's not already there?
As a side note, I don't necessarily want users only interacting via a web form either per the comments I saw below.
[ Views ]
------------
AT also have the following "View" types that change the overall layout of how that content is displayed.
It looks like Fusioo also has views. More specifically "List" and "Kanban" views.
Do you plan to add any of the following view types:
🔸 Form
🔸 Calendar
🔸 Gallery
🔸 Timeline
🔸 Gantt
🔸 Section

May 14, 2024A: Hi @Sumo-ling,
Thanks for your question!
At Fusioo, we do not have pre-defined Roles. In Fusioo, a Role is a group of Users. You just drag-and-drop Users in a particular Role from your Administrator interface.
Once you have created a Role, you can set the Role permissions (which will be applied to all users within that role).
You can set up Role permissions for any App (table in Airtable) and components within that App. You can state whether than Role can:
🔹 View the App
🔹 View and update any Field values within the App
🔹 Create, Update, Delete, Import, Export and Print records within the App
🔹 View App Reports
🔹 View Dashboards within an App
If certain Users only need to comment on records, you can invite them as Lite Users (always free) and share records with them.
For more information on how roles and permissions work within Fusioo, you can check - https://www.fusioo.com/guide/security-roles-and-permissions
[VIEWS]
With regards to Views, yes, Fusioo has multiple views to change how your content is visualized.
We call these views, Widgets. You can learn more about Dashboard Widgets here: https://www.fusioo.com/guide/dashboard-widgets
Essentially, Apps are made up of multiple Dashboards (act as sections for your App), which in turn are made up of multiple Widgets.
At the moment, you can use the following widgets:
🔹 Heading
🔹 Text
🔹 List/Kanban/Badge
🔹 Numeric metric
🔹 Sorted List
🔹 Pie chart
🔹 Line chart
🔹 Bar chart
🔹 Area chart
[CALENDAR]
In Fusioo we use one, centralized calendar, which displays data from all the Apps you have access to.
You can learn more about the Fusioo calendar here: https://www.fusioo.com/guide/calendar
[FORM VIEW]
As for the Form view, it is available when you are creating, updating, or viewing a record.
Right now the form view is not accessible from outside of Fusioo, but it is on our public roadmap (Webforms: https://www.fusioo.com/product/public-roadmap#WebForms)
[GALLERY VIEW]
The Gallery View is called Badge view in Fusio and is part of the List/Kanban widget - https://www.fusioo.com/guide/list-view#badge-mode
[SECTIONS]
Section can be replicated in Fusioo by adding multiple Dashboards to your App.
These Dashboards will "segment" your App. For example, for a projects App, you might have a "Projects" dashboard, which shows all projects, and a "Project Analytics" Dashboard, which has different widgets showing stats about your projects.
Each Dashboard can include a List/Kanban/Badge widget. Each widget can be sorted differently, grouped differently, and show Fields that make sense for that widget!
[GANNT & TIMELINE]
Gannt chart (and possibly a form of Timeline view) is one of the widgets that we plan to add this year.
It's already in our roadmap - https://www.fusioo.com/product/public-roadmap#NewDashboardWidgets
I hope that helps! Let me know if you have any other questions 🙂
