Q: Tempted, but confused
Ive bought many legal page plugins over the years, but in the end there are many FREE versions out like this one https://wordpress.com/plugins/legal-pages which all have a pro version if you want the extras, but even their pro version caps at $159 for unlimited sites. Forgive my ignorance, but what makes getterms so much better to cost $569 for unlimited sites?

Edited Feb 17, 2026A: Hi Rudy,
Thanks for reaching out, and good on you for doing some research.
Generally speaking, we're a premium tool. Our prices are fair and they reflect our quality and reliability of our product. I've not tried or heard of this software before, and honestly they have 6 public reviews with content, and 0 demos of their product on their site, so I wouldn't feel comfortable giving my own comparison based on that either.
I definitely would be hesitant using the free version based on their reviews - "Free version takes your info like it’s going to be a generator, then has no options to generate legal pages" and "installed, doesn’t work, just tries to get you to pay".
How about this - Rather than provide my own comparison, I'll give you some areas where you can make your own assessment.
1.
What features do they actually offer? If they do offer any of these features, it's not on their website or documentation. If they don't, there's really no comparison. Most of our users would find this platform useless for their needs.
- Are all of their legal policy templates drafted and reviewed by a legal team?
- Do they support multiple translations of all policies, reviewed by legal translators?
- Are they a Google certified Consent Mode Partner?
- Do they support Google Consent Mode? - required to use Google tools in the EU
- Do they offer geo-tagging for per-region consent settings?
- Do they provide all of the agency features that we offer?
- Do they offer automatic script blocking? - required for GDPR compliance
- Do they offer auto-language detection?
- Do they support Global Privacy Controls? - Required for CCPA compliance
- Are they integrated with Shopify's Consent API?
- Are they integrated with Microsoft Clarity API?
- Is it integrated with WPconsentAPI? - required for WordPress
- How long does it take to setup per client?
- What's their product support like?
2.
Policies (Transparency) is only half of website privacy compliance, consent being the other. While they mention they have a consent banner, they say nothing about script blocking, so I'm wondering if they simply provide a popup that tells your users that the website uses cookies and proceeds to do nothing else. That's not a functioning consent banner if so.
Also - there's no mention of Google Consent Mode integration, which makes this product useless in the EU (and possibly the US in the future) for businesses relying on Google Ads or Analytics. They certainly aren't a Google Consent Mode partner.
With that in mind, if you're paying for legal pages in the EU, you'll need to pay for an additional tool to handle consent. Or you could buy GetTerms, which has a policy generator you can trust and a Google Certified Consent Platform, and move on. It's an all-in-one solution.
3.
If you're looking for unlimited sites, I assume you're running an agency. Which tool your clients will be happier using? and do you trust this tool enough to rely on it for compliance? I can tell you, based on real customer reviews and feedback provided by agency partners, that customers want to keep using our tool, even when they've joined us from solutions 10x the price.
Remember, if you're not compliant, legal-pages isn't accountable. You and your clients are.
I hope this helps you make a decision!

Thanks for that. Good answers always help educate everyone else coming behind as well. :) I usually get plugins for unlimited websites because I have a ton of bright shiny object websites of my own that I self host. So paying $500 is a little rich for convenience. :) And as you said, no plugin removes accountability (nor should it).
Hi Rudy,
To be clear, I'm not saying it's just for convenience. I'm saying I'm not confident that the linked tool is actually compliant. Despite what their website says. Definitely not going to ensure you're compliant with the CCPA or GDPR if their banner doesn't provide script blocking.
FYI You get 199 sites, not unlimited as it says
Hi John,
Incorrect, the 199-sites figure is a soft limit. You’re not hard-capped and won’t suddenly lose access if you reach it; the fair-use policy exists to prevent bulk redistribution/resale (not to penalize genuine agency or client work); and if you reach or expect to exceed 199 active sites you can contact us for a brief chat and we’ll likely accommodate you.
I understand that it is a soft limit, but you should be more transparent about this
