A Trusty Guard for My Data?
As a dedicated Windows user concerned about keeping my files and folders out of the wrong hands, I've got to tip my hat to GhostVolt. It looks like it could be a real game-changer for me!
๐ What I Like About GhostVolt: First off, the encryption seems to be top-notch. I wonder if they have been independently reviewed though. I could not find any info on that. I've been using it to safeguard everything from personal finance documents to my collection of vacation snaps, and it works like a pretty well albeit sometime rather slow at times. It's evident that a ton of expertise and care has gone into developing GhostVolt. It's user-friendly, and for someone who isn't exactly a tech wizard, that's a big plus! But the many functions can be somewhat overwhelming if you start out.
๐ A Couple of Hiccups: Just a heads-up, though, it's a Windows-only affair, so if you're not on that platform, you'll need to look elsewhere. And you know, I like to do my homework on the companies I interact with, especially when it comes to security. The GhostVolt website is light on company info and only gives us the first names of the founders. A bit more transparency would be reassuring, you know? Especially for a security product you're supposed to trust!
To sum it up, for all of us Windows loyalists, GhostVolt is like a loyal friendโsmart, reliable, and ready to protect. Sure, I'd love to see it branch out to other platforms and get to know who's behind the curtain a bit better. But at the end of the day, GhostVolt does what it promisesโit keeps my digital world safe and sound, at least I hope so ;-)

May 9, 2024Hi @pb68
Thanks for the review; much appreciated. I can confirm that the underlying encryption platform we use for GhostVolt (Inferno Crypto Library) has been independently audited. You can view the audit by heading over to their website: securitydriven.net/inferno/.
In terms of performance, our commitment to adhering to best practices for securing your data means that the encryption process can be slow, especially when dealing with very large files or a large number of small files. For instance, GhostVolt employs anti-crack mechanisms intentionally designed to slow down the encryption key creation process to thwart brute-force attacks on your data. Additionally, GhostVolt conducts extensive validation both before and after encryption to safeguard against data loss or corruption, which can contribute to the overall encryption overhead โ a worthwhile investment, in my opinion.
That being said, certain factors on your computer can further impede performance, notably anti-virus on-access scans, which may significantly reduce GhostVolt's efficiency. I would recommend ensuring that your anti-virus software is whitelisted for GhostVolt.
I hear you regarding the light-touch approach on our about us page on our website. I'll be sure to update it with more details about us and what we do.
