Great docs platform, but the documented PDF import flow is missing from the dashboard
I bought Tier 2 lifetime to host my book library. The published docs look sharp and the platform delivers once content is in.
The problem: their own help center says to create a new section you click the [+] button next to the section tabs in the editor header, and that the same wizard handles file uploads including PDFs. That button does not exist anywhere in my dashboard. Not in the editor header, the section drawer, the section switcher, More actions, Assets, or Settings. The section editor has no import or upload option either. So there is currently no way to import my finished 45-page PDF book as a new section through the UI.

Support replied the same day I wrote in (September 29), which I credit them for. But three weeks later, the feature their docs describe still is not in the product.

If the import flow worked as documented, this would be five stars. Until then, three.

I am in T2 and trying to like the product, but after testing for many days, the results are not acceptable. The AI chat response seems able to query content in the first answer, but it doesn't work in the second. I spent many days testing and have finally decided to request a refund.

GitDoc is an essential tool in every developer's toolkit out because it does the one thing every developer says they will do later: write proper documentation.

I tested it by connecting GitDoc to a GitHub repo for a web app I built a couple of years ago. What impressed me is that it read the actual source files, not only the repo name, filenames, or README, and generated documentation that was substantively correct. I was able to publish the docs, and the result looked polished enough to share.

The bigger value is that GitDoc connects the parts of documentation that are usually split across different tools. It can generate docs from a repo, API spec, files, URLs, or prompts, then let you edit visually or in MDX, publish to a branded domain, and keep the documentation synced as the project changes which is a key differentiator in my opinion.

The AI side is also more interesting than a basic doc generator. GitDoc includes Ask AI search for visitors, plus API and MCP access, so tools like ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, or other AI workflows can query or work with the docs directly. This is extremely useful because more people now ask AI tools for answers instead of digging through documentation page by page.

I also like that GitDoc is using its own LLMs rather than relying entirely on the usual third party AI providers. The team said Gemini is only used as backup or for high availability, which should give them more control over cost, availability, and how the product develops.

One thing I would still clarify is BYOK access. The team said BYOK is already supported through MCP and that every app function can be used through your own key that way.

Overall, GitDoc is an easy recommend if you build projects and push code to GitHub. It gives you a fast way to go from repo to published documentation, while also making those docs easier for users and AI tools to query.
