WoW... and even more!
My temporary review (just playing with it for two days).
To understand my use case : I put the widget on the WordPress websites of my clients and display an "Assistance" button for all the logged-in user so they can report bugs and request improvements in one click.
PROS :
- Well polished and nice UI
- Easy to install
- Good bug reporting features.
- The console log reporting looks good. We can even filter out the requests made by Gleap itself!
- We can leave internal notes to our teammates to resolve bugs.
- We can choose (and create) the buttons we want for the widget!
- Great customization : logo, icons, texts, colors and even CSS !
- Really impressive roadmap : Livechat, Chatbot, Changelog, Custom email addresses per project...
CONS :
- We cannot see at a glance "all the open bugs" to fix. We need to go in each project. Yes, there is a (tiny) list of the issues attached to us but there is no way to assign people per project, so not really convenient.
- We cannot filter the bugs "per url"... so it's hard to plan a fix session... My tip here is to add tags to each bug with the name of the page (because you can filter by tags).
- We cannot capture the WP admin bar (it's not showing up in the static screenshots, but it's there on the videos).
- I found the static screenshots a tiny (tiny) bit stretched, nothing disturbing, I am just picky. For the video feedback it's perfect and there is even the sound.
- Too bad that we are limited to 4 buttons for the widget! Even more so, that I tried to duplicate some with the devtools and even with 12 buttons it's perfectly nice with the scrollbar! I would really like to be able to put more buttons (mostly to put some links to specific pages).
- For the roadmap feature, a public "idea board" (for everything that is not planned) and a search filter would be convenient. Maybe let use define (and add) the steps/columns. The public view is only a narrow vertical list (would be great to have a kanban view). And also for now there is no "categories" to organize a bit all that.
Note for those searching a website review tool :
Whith Gleap you will not "see" the comments directly on the page (like in Markup.io, WebVizio, Ruttl...). Instead you will have a kanban with requests. You may miss the convenience to "see" all the requests page per page with some comments "pinned" on it. But with Gleap, everyone can submit requests (no need to invite anyone) and it will be more reliable. I didn't find any visual feedback tool (where we pin comment directly on the page) that is reliable. Also with Gleap you can "merge" requests which is really convenient. Only the ability for a submitter to view the status of ALL his requests is lacking... (I am sure some clients will report bugs twice because they forget that they submit the request already.)
It's already a great product and the team looks really motivated to improve it even more. Don't miss it!
PS: I cannot wait for the changelog and the livechat/chatbot features!!! š¤©
