Weird
Make sure you don't have any money in your Outscraper wallet before you add the AppSumo code, because they'll just use your existing balance instead of the deal credits.
Here's what happened to me: I had positive funds sitting in my wallet, then I redeemed the AppSumo lifetime deal. I figured I'd be fine just using the map scraper and email/contact tools that come with the LTD, but nope. They kept charging my wallet for everything. My balance even went negative!
I didn't realize what was happening until I checked later and saw I was at -$13. The thing is, AppSumo only adds their credits at the end of the 30-day period, so there was no way for me to use features like the email validator without my positive wallet balance getting completely drained first.
Bottom line: Zero out your wallet before activating the AppSumo code, or you'll end up paying with your own money while waiting for AppSumo to add the deal credits after 30 days.

Cost Estimator is Extremely Inaccurate and Unclear - Expect Overbilling
The Google Maps Scraper (now called Outscraper) returns a lot of data, but the billing model is confusing and the cost estimates are significantly unreliable. In my case, the final charges ended up being nearly double what was shown at confirmation. That’s not a minor discrepancy — it makes it extremely difficult to manage a budget or plan usage effectively.
One major issue is that the system doesn’t clearly distinguish between what’s included in your monthly plan and what will incur additional charges. My dashboard shows $30 in credits, but they only apply to certain Maps services. Add-on tools like the email validator are encouraged during setup, but apparently aren’t covered — and there’s no clear indication of how credits are applied when reviewing an estimate or confirming a task.
I’ve seen other users report similar issues with unexpected charges — and the company doesn’t seem interested in improving transparency. Unless you’re running very limited, highly controlled tasks, be prepared for overages. Proceed with caution.

Jul 23, 2025Hi! We completely understand your concern. Just to clarify, upon purchase, the coverage of the Lifetime Deal (LTD) is clearly stated on the deal page. For example, it includes:
5,000 places for the Google Maps Scraper, and
5,000 domains for the Emails & Contacts Scraper
Any additional tools or services beyond those included in the LTD (e.g. Phone Enricher, Email Verification, etc.) are billed...

Hidden Additional charges- Misleading and deceptive conduct.
It is a shock how they advertised on Appsumo. Clearly, at the time of purchase, it was written monthly 5000 leads with Appsumo credit. However, I was hit by an invoice. We cannot make any further downloads. Their customer service doesn't respond. I'm very disappointed with the experience.

Apr 24, 2025Hi @muhammad20,
Please take note that the terms of your LTD are limited to specific services and specific usages, as described on the lifetime deal page (e.g. 5000 places for Google Maps Scraper and 5000 domains for Emails & Contacts Scraper that are commonly used together as an enrichment for lead generation. Using any other services (Facebook Pages, Email Verification, etc.) will be billed...

Hidden Fees – Stay Away
Terrible experience. They hit you with extra charges that aren't made clear when you purchase. I used a single scrape worth $30 in credits, then got slapped with an invoice and can't use the service again without paying them. Total bait-and-switch. You’ll end up paying way more than expected. Avoid at all costs.

Hidden Costs & Not Transparent - Extra Invoices - Tool works great.l
I did only one (1) single scrape limited to 1000 results in one month - with my $30 Credits I still got an invoice of 12.44 to pay. apparently the $30 credit is not used up in its entirety before billing starts.
When I contacted support to enquire about the invoice they said:
"The terms of your LTD are limited to specific services and specific usages, as described on the lifetime deal page (e.g. 5000 places for Google Maps Scraper and 5000 domains for Emails & Contacts Scraper that are commonly used together as an enrichment for lead generation) Additionally, the monthly credit of the lifetime deal is not accumulating. If your usage during one month is more than the deal limit, you will receive an invoice for the outstanding usage during the billing period (30 days) according to the prices"
The extra charges are not clearly disclosed upfront, making it difficult to understand the actual costs before running a scrape. If you review the invoice details (View invoice and payment details), a sidebar opens, listing the extra charges with different metered rates—something that isn’t made clear during the initial selection process.
When selecting extra services, each one shows a vague pricing range (e.g., 0-0.000x c per X). However, to find the actual tiered pricing, you need to click on the blue link icon next to the green recommended bubble, which takes you to the extra service page. From there, you must look in the top right corner—where, in tiny 9-10px font, you’ll find the word Pricing. Clicking this reveals another sidebar displaying the pricing tiers for that specific extra.
Each extra has a different free usage tier (e.g., 25, 50, 500, or 1,000 units free), and you need to manually check each one to see its specific pricing structure. Additionally, these extras are not traditional add-ons—they are completely separate tools with their own independent billing.
Your included credits do not apply to these "extras", (only the one that specifically says "Emails & Contacts Scraper") meaning for ALL others you only receive the first-tier amount for free, your included credits do not cover it and all additional usage is charged.
I found the support experience to be quite unfriendly. The responses became noticeably shorter and more abrupt the more I inquired about invoices. Instead of offering clarity, the replies felt accusatory, as if I was at fault for not understanding their billing system.
While a language barrier could be a factor, with AI writing tools readily available, I don’t think that’s a valid excuse for poor communication.
If the billing details had been clearer—such as explicitly stating that extras weren’t included and displaying charges more transparently (e.g., instead of showing $0 to $0.00003, indicating $0 for up to 25, then $0.0003 per additional unit)—I would have been happy to accept my mistake and pay promptly. However, given how difficult this information was to find, the fact that others have raised similar concerns for over a year without any improvements, and the unfriendly, unhelpful support experience, I wouldn’t feel comfortable recommending this tool. If I were on a monthly subscription, the customer service alone would have me looking for alternatives.
That said, the tool itself is high-quality, relatively easy to use, and provides excellent data. I’ve been happy with the content it produces, but the poor user and customer experience leaves a sour taste. While it’s only a $12 invoice, I'm not upset about the amount, - I’ll pay it begrudgingly—disappointed that the company hasn’t taken steps to improve clarity and support.
