A lacking mobile app and too few locations, but more solid on desktop

I only use a VPN when I travel so that I can make sure my traffic is protected when I connect trough public wifi in hotels and airports and the like... Since I got a long travel ahead, I purchased the deal to test the VPN on my real-life needs on a real trip.

The results were only partially good. Although it connects fast to the location specified and the reduction of speed is low (it's normal to have a speed reduction with this kind of products), the biggest problem for me is that, in my Android phone which is always connected to the Wifi in hotels, I needed to turn off and on the VPN after a while (usually less than half an hour) or the connection was blocked. I mean, it was still connected to the VPN according to the system and the Goose VPN program, but I couldn't connect to any page or service. I needed to switch it off and on again for it to reconnect and keep me online. This is a bummer. I' ve tested it later with my own superfast and stable local connections, at the office and at home, and the same thing happened, so I'm sure it's a flaw in the mobile product. In my mobile phone I'll stick with Cloudflare Warp, that in fact has the opposite problem: doesn't work very well for me on the desktop.

The mobile app (at least in Android) doesn't have an automatic connection feature so that you're protected as soon as you connect to specific networks, so you need to connect to the wifi and quickly turn on the VPN. My current other VPN does this automatically. They have this feature in Windows (Autopilot) so that Goose VPN is automatically turn on for every wifi except the ones you mark as trusted.

On the other hand, the Goose VPN desktop app for Windows is strong and works fast and continuously without apparent problem.

Another con is the lacking locations list (most of them are in Europe, but almost not a single one in South-America (just Brazil) or in Asia (just Singapore)). When you travel to those areas, you want a server as close to your location as possible to increase speed. They should expand the list a lot to be competitive with other VPN products.

I think it's a promising product but it's still lacking in locations and in stability and features in the case of the mobile app. However, for the price paid in AppSumo's Life Time Deal, I'll keep it for using it on my laptop computer when I'm not home. Maybe in the future the mobile app will catch up, and they will add more locations.

Thanks for having your product here!
