What are past projects, failures, or successes you’ve had in your career?
There are many projects that I probably can't fit here, Grain being one of the biggest but here are some key projects that changed and enlightened me in some way:
Playtolia SDK:A s the lead developer of the Playtolia SDK by Byte Lab (İzmir, Turkey) developed Unity and cross-platform SDKs that handle auth, in-app purchases, support, moderation, and social features for games that reach millions of players every month. Sezer SIS: As a team of two (Berkay and me) we designed a smart irrigation system (including app, firmware, electronics, and mechanical systems) for one of the Turkey's largest agriculture tech companies: SEZER Tarım (sezermac.com). Now powering +1000 hose reel irrigation systems across Turkey, Europe, and MENA empowering sustainable agriculture and higher efficiency.
* Doviz App (canlidoviz.com):One of Turkey's largest finance apps, Doviz App has realtime market info on currencies, coins, emtias, and gold. Serving +200K users on the mobile app and +2M visitors on web monthly. Entire app ecosystem is built and managed by me (Eray).
* EventConnect: Gotta be my favorite. Cem and I started EventConnect's journey around 2021 (Cursor and ChatGPT did not exist). In 2023, EventConnect was released to make event management, ticketing, and payments easier for organizers. AppSumo campaign launched later, which was not really successful but we met amazing people and got great revies (5 tacos). It's still active and used, handling about +10K event tickets every month
What 3rd party tools is your product critically dependent on?
Gemini 2.5 / 3 and GPT-5 family of models power our AI-enabled features
Auth0 used for authentication
Where is your customer data stored?
Frankfurt, Germany (default data region, powered by Azure)
Virginia, US (Coming soon, see the roadmap🤫)
What’s the origin of the idea for your product?
Initially started to work on a way to store analytics, functional, and historical data efficiently for our games, apps, websites, and IoT devices. Later we noticed many issues and gaps in todays analytics tools, which led us to a web-first platform. However, we internally use Grain for Unity games and mobile apps too, so stay tuned for future expansions.
What problem is your product solving and how?
No product can show common user journey, leading to goals or drop-offs. Funnel lie and limit you to a set of dimensions. Users don't move like that. They bounce, hesitate, come back a week later and convert in weird ways.
Grain fills this gap and shows you *how* users convert or why they don't. Combine this with the privacy-first and cookie-less approach, AI features, and a powerful database which gives you the freedom to see and use your raw data.
What’s the #1 thing you’re looking to gain from the AppSumo campaign?
Virality
What are your plans with the customers, cash, and learnings from the AppSumo campaign?
I have no doubt that we'll receive insane amount of great feedback from Sumo-lings. These ideas will help us shape our roadmap, improve our products and introduce more features. Our expanded customer base and testimonial collection will help us acquire more and bigger deals from other businesses. The cash will allow us to invest more in the upcoming technology and marketing efforts (+ motivation 🚀)
Any details to clarify about the deal?
Initial Kai credits are added to your account automatically. After that you'll get weekly refills (based on the tier) which will add more Kai credits to your balance.
Refill pauses when you reach your credit cap (which equals to the initial Kai credits). So if you are on Tier 1 and have 47 credits, your new balance will be 50 (instead of 52) and will not refill until you use credits.
More credits will be available as one-time purchase soon via Grain dashboard. Additional credits will increase your credit cap too.
