After launch we spent our time scaling our Data Engine and listening to your feedback. Today, I’m excited to announce a massive wave of updates that make Grain faster, smarter, and more flexible.

🧠 Kai + Straico.com Integration

You asked for it, and it’s here. You can now use your Straico API keys to power Kai, our AI analyst. This gives you total control over which LLM models analyze your data while keeping your costs internal to your Straico subscription. Available for all AppSumo tiers now.

🗺️ High-Precision Heatmaps

We’ve officially launched Heatmaps! Now you can see exactly where your users are clicking, scrolling, and lingering. Heatmaps are now available for Tier 2 and above. Visit Heatmaps page to enable data collection and snapshotting.

🛰️ Project Vanguard: The Next Generation of Tracking

Behind the scenes, we’ve deployed Vanguard Snapshotting. This distributed technology captures high-fidelity DOM fragments from your site to power our new heatmaps. While it’s currently a backend engine for heatmaps, we’ll be opening it up for standalone event discovery and site indexing very soon. This allows Grain to “see” your website, by capturing compact snapshots from actual visitors (without PIIs, before user makes any input).

🔗 “Synthetic” Goals: Landing Pages & URLs

You can now set specific URLs or Landing Pages as Goals without writing a single line of code. Simply point to a "Thank You" or "Success" page, and Grain will retroactively calculate your conversion rates. Visit Mission Control page to add new goals.

🛠️ Performance & Stability

To the technical crowd: We’ve overhauled our ingestion layer. We implemented a high-availability Cassandra buffer to handle traffic spikes and optimized our Data Engine merge logic. Result? A 26x increase in processing capacity and zero dropped events.

Straico and heatmaps features were added as a part of our public roadmap and prioritized by your votes. We’ve been live for just over 24 hours, and the feedback has been incredible. One thing became immediately apparent: the ability to Bring Your Own Key (BYOK) is a high priority for this community.

We built Grain to be the most flexible and transparent analytics platform in your stack and we want you to have total control over your AI inference and costs.

Effective immediately, BYOK is included in all AppSumo Tiers.

What this means for you:

• AI Flexibility: You can now plug in your own OpenAI or Google Gemini keys directly into Grain.
• No Credit Limits: By using your own keys, you aren't restricted by our internal AI processing limits—you can query Kai as much as your own API limits allow.
• Privacy & Control: Your data remains yours, and your AI queries run through your preferred providers.
