Q: Wow, I am just super amazed by Grsit, It's honestly the dream for people that make a spreadsheet/database for ...

everything (like me :D ) great job!!

1) As much as I like the branding and all, is there's a dark mode? if not, is it coming soon?
2) The 8 Users, all should be in my team? Can't I share it with a friend or a family member?
3) If the answer to 2 is that they're inside the team, can every user have their own private spreadsheets that aren't shared with the rest of the team?
4) Is there's folders or tags to organize the databases?
5) Do you have any plans to support offline editing? in web-view or as a downloadable software?
6) What's the difference between Grist and Microsoft Access? from reading the features it made me think of it, can Grsit replace Microsoft Access?

Thank you so much in advance!!!

A: Hello! I'm happy to hear you like Grist!

1. Dark mode has been requested several times (several of those requests were made by our CTO, Paul, too 😂 ). Yes, we do plan to implement dark mode. You can vote for it in our community forum. https://community.getgrist.com/t/feature-request-dark-mode/72/2

2. You may share those 8 seats with whomever you like! Just keep in mind the difference between team-level sharing (https://support.getgrist.com/team-sharing/#team-sharing) and document-level sharing (https://support.getgrist.com/sharing/#sharing). By the way, you may expand the number of collaborators in many ways. There's a breakdown in my post here: https://appsumo.com/products/grist/#q651443

3. Yes, all users have their own personal, free account at docs.getgrist.com which is limited to 10 documents (each document may contain multiple tables.) In a team site (where you have unlimited documents), there are also workspaces, which are folders that group documents into collections. You may also manage workspace-level sharing permissions. https://support.getgrist.com/workspaces/

4. Yes, workspaces help organize sites, as mentioned above. Within a document (or database), you can click and drag, and nest, pages to create a logical order for your pages.

5. That's a good idea! Feel free to suggest it in our forum. https://community.getgrist.com/
For now, the best way to run Grist offline is through grist-core, Grist's open source version. https://support.getgrist.com/newsletters/2020-10/#open-source-beta

6. Many Access users have found Grist to be a good replacement. In fact, a college class that was using Microsoft Access switched to Grist during the pandemic when students needed to work from home. Dmitry's response to a question about Filemaker also applies to Access: https://appsumo.com/products/grist/#q651413

I would add that Grist's API, integrations, custom widgets and granular access rules (custom user permissions set by table, column, and row) further differentiate Grist.

If you look at our templates, Maps and Invoicing contain a couple of cool and useful custom widgets. https://docs.getgrist.com/p/templates
