Q: Can the player be opened upon a click on a specific icon

I have seen web pages that use players that pop up only once you click on an icon representing speech. WOuld this be possible also with GSpeech?

Another question: I read that it is possible to define an exact position on the page via CSS/js. Is it also possible to adjust the exact look of the player? Or can I choose only from the few colors that you offer?

Can I preset the exact buttons on the player? E.g. if I do not want that users change the voice - can I just remove this option?

Last but not least: Is it possible also import/train my own voice?

A: Hello,

Yes, it's absolutely possible to open the player only when clicking a specific icon. You can achieve this using the Custom JavaScript section within GSpeech to implement the desired behavior.

Regarding the appearance and positioning of the player—yes, you can define the exact position using CSS or JavaScript. Custom styling is also possible through code, and we're currently working on a template creator wizard that will allow you to apply styles with a live preview, making customization even easier.

As for the player controls, all individual options can be hidden, including voice selection, so you can tailor the player interface to your specific needs.

At this time, we do not support voice cloning or importing custom voices.

Q: Background Audio playback!

Does GSpeech support background audio playback? For example, if a user switches to another browser tab, will the converted audio continue playing, similar to how YouTube videos play in the background?

Q: Can we limit GSpeech to Certain Pages on Website?

To conserve credits and attract serious website visitors, I want to install Google Speech on certain pages, such as the blog. Can I do that?

Also, for tier 1, are which voices are available as they are limited at that level? Are they the older voices that are more "robotic" in comparison to the others?

A: Hello,

There are several ways to display the player only on specific pages:

1. Shortcodes – You can insert the player exactly where you need it by using shortcodes.

2. URL Filtering – Alternatively, you can specify a list of URLs where the player should appear. This can be configured under Widgets → Multi-page Widget → Content tab, using the "Allowed URLs" option.

As for the voices in Tier 1, it includes support for only one non-AI voice per each language.

Q: 2 Questions

(1) If an article or page is re-written or edited, does GSpeech's character consumption need to be re-do the page from scratch? Or does it intuitively know that it only needs to fix the edited words, and not expend unnecessary credits?

(2) Is there a way to fix the pronunciation, by spelling parts of the transcript phonetically (hidden from the viewer), but still display the correct spelling when shown to the viewer?

A: Hello,

1. Currently, GSpeech is designed to generate audio based on the entire content of an article or page. So, any update—no matter how small—will trigger a full regeneration of the audio. However, we will improve the algorithm to detect and regenerate only the modified sections in the future, which will help save character credits.

2. Yes, you can fine-tune pronunciation using TTS aliases. This feature allows you to define replacement rules, so the audio output can differ from the displayed text. For example:
ai:artificial intelligence
This means the system will read "artificial intelligence" whenever it sees "ai", while still showing the original "ai" to the viewer.

A: Hello,

Our current focus is on the audiofication of web content.
However, we are also working on an interface that will allow users to generate and download audio, which will be available in the near future.
In the meantime, as a temporary solution, you can insert text into any webpage using our widget, and then download the generated MP3 from there.

In addition, we are developing GSpeech Studio—a powerful audio generation and editing platform. It will support multiple audio channels, background music, sound effects, audio export, and much more. While this will be a standalone product, Tier 4 and Tier 5 users will receive access as part of their plan.

Please note that audio generation will be available across all tiers through a simplified interface, which is coming soon.
