Q: 6 questions about gumlet and API
Hi everyone, I stream around 700GB-1TB per month and I'm interested in a plan starting at level 3. We'll have a hard time migrating this to you guys, but I have a few questions:
1. Does your player support Chromecast and Airplay?
2. Does your API allow me to track the progress of the video via JavaScript to trigger a webhook at 10%, for example?
3. Can I use a player other than yours?
4. Does your player have a frame-by-frame video preview?
5. Do you generate an animated webm version of the video to be used as a thumbnail?
6. Were you able to send the video, thumbnail, audio tracks in other languages, and subtitles all via API?

Dec 1, 2024A: Hi Sumoling,
Thank you for your interest in Gumlet.
1. We currently support Airplay. In the upcoming months, we will add Chromecast support for Android TV.
2. We do work with player events, but this specific trigger is not currently available. Please contact our support channels, and we may be able to help you with the trigger rather quickly.
3. Yes! Gumlet provides HLS URLs that can be used with any video player.
4. Yes. You can preview the video frames by hovering over the seek bar. Example - https://gumlet.tv/watch/674b19b62834b8c697ef36a6/
5. This functionality is not currently available. However, you can upload an animated GIF as the thumbnail for the video.
6. Yes, we can get those details (except subtitles) via the API once the video is processed. (reference doc - https://docs.gumlet.com/reference/get-asset-status).
I hope that helps.
Best,

Chromecast is one of the most requested features by customers right now. Do you have a date for when this feature will be available?
We have all the .srt and .vtt of the videos, they can't be sent via API, will we have to register 5 languages for each video one by one?
Hi again
We will evaluate all the feature requests we have on our road map. Based on that, we can add some estimates. I hope that helps.

You can send SRT over APIs, if you have coding knowledge. However, you can also upload the files directly from the video settings page. A video can have 4 subtitles.
So, you can upload them in one go.
