Do these “promises” also apply from Tier 1 or Tier 2 onwards?

All AppSumo tiers include strong privacy and access controls like domain whitelisting, password protection, private links, and geo blocking. These are usually more than enough for secure client sharing and controlled access.
If you need full Digital Rights Management (DRM) protection with FairPlay and Widevine, that is available only on Tier 5 and Tier 6. These tiers are designed for customers who require the highest level of content security and want to fully prevent unauthorized downloads or screen recording.
Tiers 1 to 4 still give you solid protection for everyday use, but Tier 5 and 6 are the right choice if DRM level security is a must.

So Tier 1 to 4 do not protect against downloads, correct?
Whitelisting is only to protect embedded video.
You can turn off downloads on all tiers, which hides the download button and stops regular users from saving the video.
However, true anti-download protection requires DRM. Without DRM (available only on Tier 5 and 6), advanced users can still use developer tools, extensions, or screen recording to capture the video.

Yes, if you are on tier 1 to 4 and someone uses a plugin to download the video, it will be possible. DRM will prevent it.

Tiers 5 and 6 include DRM, which means your videos are protected with Widevine (Android/Chrome) and FairPlay (Apple/Safari).
In your Gumlet dashboard, you enable DRM for the project or individual videos.
Gumlet automatically encrypts the files and serves them through Widevine and FairPlay DRM.
