Holy Smokes! These Forms are FAST!
I am usually too busy doing what I do to leave reviews but I have to hand it to the HappyForms people. Well Done!
I have been using Formidable Forms (Pro) for over a decade. I got in on their lifetime deal when they were still in their early stages. They served me very well over the years. While I have a lifetime license with them, they got bloated and started charging for support. So, I have been looking for a replacement. Hello HappyForms!
First, this is a powerful yet lightweight plugin. I re-created an existing contact form with HappyForms and it shaved almost a full second off my page speed compared to Formidable! On top of that, it was .6mb smaller! I am now in the process of replacing all but one of my forms on the site.
Ok, does HappyForms do everything that Formidable does? No. Well, not yet, anyway. The Formidable Forms today is a far cry from what they were in the beginning with tons of new functions added over the years. For most users, this will not be an issue. I have confidence that HappyForms will continue to add new features. Besides that, HappyForms is SO much easier and faster to create forms that look amazing! I mean, you can see the actual form in real time...right there on your screen!
What it can't do - An example
In Formidable, I have a complex form with Google auto-fill for location and fields that calculate a value. I can't do that in HappyForms and even then, it is still somewhat clunky in Formidable. Most form plugins struggle with this and may require additional plugins for this to work. Other than that one form, I am switching all others to HappyForms.
Support is FAST!
Last night, Friday at 7pm, I had a small issue so I emailed support. Within an hour I received a reply! Thanks Scott! I had set up a fresh Wordpress install for testing this plugin. There was a slight glitch with the form view not updating with the default Twenty Twenty theme. It worked perfectly with Twenty Nineteen but who uses those themes anyway? LOL. It is flawless on the Astra and GeneratePress themes.
HappyForms also works perfectly with Elementor and Beaverbuilder as I tested both.
If your business/website relies on contact forms, it is a wise investment to pay for a premium plugin vs a free one. Good luck getting support for a free plugin. It also isn't a bad idea to have a backup, just in case your current solution starts acting up as what happened to me.
The only con I have at this point is extremely minor and probably more of a personal preference. I wish there was a way to indicate that a field was required. For example, some sort of asterisk or something. As it is now, optional fields are labeled "Optional" (You can rename it to whatever you like).
I bought 3 codes and am glad I did. HappyForms is well worth the price! Highly recommended!
