It has one purpose, and does it quick and well.
I’ll be direct, I’ve only used the sample transcription video and one other small video of mine… and this is fine. Translation is backed by big cloud services and providers, and Happy Scribe is doing a great thing of making this technology available within the price model that you and I (mostly) love.
I’ve been trying out a competing product, which I also love, from a company that offers one of my video editing tools (pay by version, no subscription), but their Speech-to-Text breaks the mold and is subscription based. I absolutely love it when I have ton of content to transcribe. At $30/month, I can burn through an unlimited amount and cancel after just a couple of months when the work is done.
But what do I do when the volume doesn’t warrant $30/mo and the simple and free transcription tools just don’t cut it?
Yep… the answer is now Happy Scribe.

✔ Need more than your AppSumo LTD? Cool, pay for only the hours you need, not an upgrade subscription
✔ Yeah, they added a monthly quota. Stay within that limit, pay nothing else.
✔ Accurate transcription
✔ Pretty fast, in my limited experience

❌ I’m not aware of the API or B2B pricing of transcription, but I feel like $69, even one time, will very (very!) soon feel expensive for 2 hours of transcription per month. This is already baked into a lot of services, and hitting economies of scale… someone big will likely loss-leader it soon, IMO.

For now… if you want some transcription done, I can’t complain. This works, has a reasonable model, and is fairly competitive for 2020 standards unless you want to fight with current free-level tools (and as someone who has… you don’t).
