A: The idea is you can upload an image (for example you holding a banner or mug) and you can overlay personalized text on top, for example saying "Hi {first_name}", so that the recipient sees a personal welcome.

If you want to use a unique image per prospect, you can simply upload these images on your server, and save the image URL in the CRM (using any of the CRM fields, like profession etc) for each contact by uploading the contact list via a CSV , then use this custom field to add the image URL inside the email using the email editor.
