UberSlick, UberSmart, UberSecure
If you are a regular user of Appsumo, there is a high probability that you are using a password manager. We have the big daddy of them, Lastpass, who will happily charge you $47 inc taxes for a fully functioning version(non-teams/families). I was a Lastpass Subscriber for years at $12 a year until LogMeIn took over, and the deal soured.
So like a password nomad, I flirted with several alternative solutions, remembering the adage if "it's free, you are the product". Keepass, BitWarden, Dashlane, 1Password, SaasPass and even the recent Appsumo deal for teams, PassCamp. There are some shortcomings with most of these tools, and all are great in certain respects; however, they are not proficient in all like LastPass.
Now enter HeyLogin into the password management arena! I did not have much of a high expectation for this new contender. I also winced at the price on offer, which seemed relatively high for a password manager, even if it is a lifetime deal.
First impressions - the signup process was very slick and took less than a minute with no hiccups. Sign up via your mobile phone. Your phone now becomes your "key", thus removing the need for a master password. Also, most phones have a 2FA on them, so you have an additional layer of security between your phone and accounts. Although aware of a list of browsers this works with; I decided to test in Brave and Opera. This did not faze HeyLogin; it simply works.
The UI is simple and well laid out. There is an option to import your logins from either your browser or other password managers. Use this opportunity to curate your existing passwords. You could also opt not to import any passwords but be aware that HeyLogin automatically stores your logins in your account as you move across different services. This is quite smart to the point of UberSmart.
It is possible to create separate silos/teams in your account, i.e. Marketing, Sales, and Developers, to only access a particular set of accounts. You could also set up temporary access for short term use, although I would have also liked the option to auto-expire passwords after a specific time.
If you manage several brands, I recommend you purchase different codes that can be managed with one phone/device. This option is not easily explained and can be done at https://heylogin.app/organizations/new. There should also be IP geolocation restrictions for direct access from limited locations. This should make HeyLogin UberSecure.
So before rushing to purchase this product, I recommend you visit their website https://www.heylogin.com/en/. Then examine your use case. Even if you do not manage a team, you could use this for family members and your personal use. It is geared for business; there are no limits to its use case. All in all, this is an excellent deal from Appsumo. If there is one deal you purchase this year to supercharge your productivity and make your life easier, it is HeyLogin. U~ber~ter hurry and get this.

May 9, 2024Hey SUMO-ring,
Wow, thanks for this super detailed review! I can understand your journey through the password manager world, my co-founder and I felt the same way. And yes, before buying it's best to check our homepage if we are the right one (you can also test us before).
Regarding browsers, I think an additional explanation is important: heylogin theoretically works on all browsers that support extensions. But officially we only support Edge, Chrome, Safari and Firefox, because we actively check them for functionality.
I hope you'll be happy with heylogin for a long time and if not, write us at hey@heylogin.com what you're missing.
Cheers,
Dominik
