Q: Comission fees are insanely high!!
The transaction fees associated with your lifetime deal seem very unreasonable.
Where did you get those numbers? I would really love to know. You've just thrown a number?
AND PLEASE, don't use the sustainability card. Us hosting an event of 2000 people at $99 low ticket offer (100% our expense on makerting, resources, etc), would make you pocket $5000 with a 2.5% fee, from a product we already paid for.
Your fees make no sense, but I would love to know your POV.

May 5, 2025A: Hey there. Thanks for reaching out.
Getting the balance right with transaction fees is always a tough one. Our growth plan (which is what this AppSumo deal is based on) has 3% transaction fees and so our primary goal with this AppSumo deal was to bring that down for those that stack 3 or more codes.
In the first instance, the transaction fees linked to this deal, were suggested by AppSumo and felt like a sensible middle ground between the rates we have on our public Growth plan and what we're able to offer here to Sumolings.
That being said - i'll be keenly listening out to feedback over the coming days to make sure we've struck the right balance.
Let's imagine I want to hold 1 webinar from time to time on your platform. Using the example above of 2000 people at a $99 low ticket offer, I would rather go to your monthly plan for 2000 attendees. I would pay $103 every time I want to run it + 1.5% fee that would give $3000 (with subscription) instead of $6000 (lifetime deal 3% fee). I see no value in this LTD with those commission fees.
Hey, thanks for following up. Based on that scenario, I totally get your point. If you're using HeySummit as a once in a blue moon webinar platform and where you don't need to keep the replay access available, then paying for a single month from our normal plans might make more sense.
In most cases, our customers are running multiple events though the year and often need to keep the event running for multiple months afterwards so the financials in that scenario will alter things.
But I totally get your point. Let me chat to the folk over at AppSumo and see if there's anything we can do to improve things a little in terms of the transaction fee.
+1 to ExpertEnough!
Thanks for considering this. Yes, it makes sense that running a replay "forever" is a big deal for some folks. I am trying to identify a worthwhile use case for myself because I genuinely appreciate your product. Suggestion: Maybe when setting up the event, it's a 0% fee for a live event + recording (to be downloaded), but if replay is set to be played afterwards, it incurs a % fee to activate?
Thanks - genuinely appreciate the feedback and input. My core role here (over the first few days of the deal) is to listen and take stock of feedback and if it looks like we got something wrong, to course adjust. If I can ask you to hold fire for the next day or so (so that I can see whether we get any other feedback regarding this).
Thanks
I agree with the pricing model. High for what's on offer. $1 per ticket is the way to go
Hi @ExpertEnough. I've appreciated your feedback so far (they've been balanced, fair and constructive).
We're looking to make some tweaks to the transaction fees, and I'd love to get your feedback to see if we're on the right track.
Transaction fees are currently set to 3%, 3%, 2.5%, 2.5%, 2% (in tier order). We're looking to reduce them to 2%, 2%, 1.5%, 1.5%, 1%
Does this feel about right?
Much better..
IMO, from the perspective of a lifetime deal buyer, I do believe that the "2%, 2%, 1.5%, 1.5%, 1%" fee structure is fair and advantageous for both parties in the long run. If this is it, I rest my case, and as a T5 pretender, I'm very happy with this change. Thanks for listening and caring.
That sounds good! Appreciate Ben for your reconsideration. I'll get Tier#5 once both 1% & Webhook/Open API are available in Tier5. Thanks ExpertEnough :)
Thanks for the feedback. However, we decided to go one better!
T5 reduces transaction fees to 0.75%. We've increased attendee capacity across the board (by as much as 150%) and we now include outbound webhooks and API access on T5.

Hope you like what we've tweaked here. Thanks again for the input.
