Q: Hi HeySummit Team, I bought one code in 2019. Could I stack more codes now to the same account?
Also, I haven't used HS but intend to do so soon. I'm wondering if all events you create allow for the audience to interact with each other (and the instructor, too, of course) via chat, creating a sense of community. And perhaps morphing into a membership community inside HeySummit? Thank you.

Jun 7, 2025A: Hey, thanks for reaching out.
Yes, in short, if you have an existing account from 2019, you can purchase new 2025 codes and add them on top of your current plan. However, it doesn't automatically convert 2019 codes to 2025 codes. For example, if you have two 2019 codes and you buy three codes now, that doesn't magically become five 2025 codes. It remains two from 2019 and three from now, but the benefits do combine.
However, we do have an option for existing 2019 customers to convert their old codes into 2025 codes if they would prefer to have the full benefit of a stacked 2025 set of codes.
In terms of HeySummit supporting audience interactions, yes, we have our own proprietary chat, Q&A, and live polling capabilities that sit alongside the embedded live stream. This also works even if it's a pre-recorded video. There are a couple of exceptions to that, such as if you're offloading the broadcast to an external webinar platform like Zoom, in which case any interactive aspects would happen over on Zoom, not on HeySummit.
Hope that helps clarify. If you have any further questions, just let me know.
Hi Ben, Thank you for your response.
(1) How do I go about converting the 2019 to 2025 codes? Will I need to do that before I buy/stack additional codes?
(2) Where can I find a comparison table or details on the 2019 vs. 2025 features?
Thanks again :)
To convert 2019 codes to 2025 ones, please reach out to our support team at support@heysummit.com, and we can assist you with that.
In terms of comparison, we have an area in the billing section of your HeySummit account that shows the quota you currently have regarding attendee and transaction limits etc, as well as a full list of features activated on your plan.
You can then compare these against the features included in this particular deal. Just note that both the 2019 and the 2025 deals are linked to our middle plan, which is the Growth Plan. Therefore, it should simply be a matter of comparing the specific features outlined on this AppSumo Deal page with the features you have in the billing area.
Is there a fee to convert 2019 code to 2025 code?
No its completely free.
Only requirement is that it has to be done while this 2025 deal is running.
I bought two codes in 2019. It looks like upgrading to the 2025 code reduces the number of attendees (from 7500 to 3000) and raises the transaction fee (from 1.5% to 2%). It also reduces the number of team members (from unlimited to 10). It does increase the active events from 3 to 10.
And the 2019 does not allow in-person and hybrid events but the 2025 code does?
Can you confirm this?
Hey, thanks for the follow-up. Yes, there will be some differences in the 2019 and 2025 codes. Obviously, HeySummit was a very different product back in 2019, and a lot has changed now. You will need to decide whether it makes sense for you to convert.
But if I'm honest, the best solution, if you want the best of both worlds, is to keep your 2019 codes and top them up with 2025 codes if you need additional capacity. This way, you're not losing codes that potentially offer some perks that you cant get with this latest deal.
Or you could keep one 2019 code and convert the other.
The 2019 code does not allow in-person and hybrid events but the 2025 code does?
Can you confirm this?
Yes that's correct. 2019 codes do not support in-person capabilities. For the full list of features included on your current plan, you can head to the Billing area in your HeySummit account - we list all features that are currently included and active on your plan.
So to be clear Ben, a 2019 Heysummit user who wants to utilize in-person and API access could, in theory, buy one 2025 code to stack and be able to have access to these features? Just want to confirm.
So Ben ... I was curious about this too. But when I checked my Billing page, it doesn't tell me anything about my 2019 plan. It says "You are not subscribed to an active subscription. Click Choose Plan below to sign up to one now."
Update: Thanks, Ben! I checked & it turns out I have two accounts. The other one shows what's included in my 2019 plan.
Hi @Idealz - yes. If you keep your existing 2019 codes and buy a 2025 code now, you will benefit from the combination of the features - meaning you can include in-person support to your account.
Hi @MarlysKA - it doesn't look like you have an account setup with AppSumo codes from 2019, either that or you may be logged into the wrong account. In either case, if you reach out to our support team at support@heysummit.com they can take a look at your account and let you know what's what :)
