Q: Live Streaming - Is This Possible ?

Hi,

My use case is the following:

I want to conduct a basic summit that could be a one to one interview or an online class taken by a tutor for about 100 people that involves participant chats. I also want this same class to be live streamed on Youtube and Facebook at the same time. Do I need any third party tools for this other than HeySummit and Youtube ?

A: Hey, Jimmy-George.

Thanks for the question. When it comes to broadcasting a talk within HeySummit, you need to choose a third-party tool. In your case, you could simply use YouTube to go live. However, if you want to also go live to Facebook, you would probably want to use a tool like StreamYard. With StreamYard, you can broadcast to both YouTube and Facebook, which I believe is possible with that platform.

This way, people can either watch it on YouTube, on Facebook, and also from within your HeySummit event. I hope that helps, but just let me know if you have any further questions.

If you'd like to see how a live stream in HeySummit works, feel free to sign up for our next live webinar at https://start.heysummit.com. This will be streamed via StreamYard, but as an attendee, you'll be watching it on our HeySummit event page. This should give you a good sense of how everything pieces together.

Hi Ben,

Thank you for your detailed reply. I understand that you need a thirdparty tool like streamyeard if you want to stream on MULTIPLE platforms at the same time. However, if I only want to live stream what is happening on HeySummit just on YouTube, then all I need is HeySummit and a Youtube account, right ?. Just want to make sure I get this right.

Hey. Yes if you are live streaming to YouTube directly, and simply want to use that in your HeySummit event then yep, YouTube is all you need :)
