BrightspaceQ: What Exactly Happens if we Stack New Codes?
Hi Ben,
I bought 5 of the 2019 Deal codes and I'm trying to understand in detail what the effect is if now stack extra codes from the 2025 deal into that account, I think its a bit confusing.
You have stated we can stack but it's not clear what will happen, it's disappointing to early adopters that you have suggested to get the benefits of the 2025 full stack that we have to buy all the codes again, but nevertheless I am considering stacking 5 of the new codes onto 5 of my old codes.

Please can you confirm if the spreadsheet above is correct? or Correct it
so that I and others can make an informed decision and reduce the confusion about this deal?

May 10, 2025A: Hey, thanks for reaching out. I apologize if anything has become unclear. It was quite a while ago that we ran the original 2019 deal. While it is not possible to convert 2019 codes into 2025 ones, it is absolutely possible to purchase additional 2025 codes now and add them to your account. But that is of course, completely optional
If purchasing any of these new 2025 codes and you already have an existing HeySummit account, then the simple way to think about it is that anything you buy now will simply be added to your existing account.
For example, if you already have a 1,000 attendees and you buy a code now for an extra 1,000 attendees, you will end up with a combined 2,000 attendees. There's no magical formula just simple addition.
The only thing to note is that we will only override a feature if that puts you in a better position. For instance, if you already have a feature that is no longer available in the 2025 deal, you will of course keep that feature. We will never put you in a worse position.
The same goes for transaction fees. If your current five stacked codes from 2019 provide you with a better transaction fee than the new 2025 codes, you will retain that better transaction fee position.
I hope that clarifies how the 2025 deal codes work. It shouldn't matter at all what your existing account is (i.e. whether you have a standard HeySummit account, or a certain number of stacked codes from 2019) - it doesn't make any difference at all. Simply put, any new codes added now will just add that new capacity or features to whatever you already have.

The 2019 deal required the same investment as today but has lower benefits in terms of attendees and active events, which makes it less profitable than investing today (after 6 years).

If you can add the codes, what's the problem with not having to buy an additional five codes if we already have three? It sounds very contradictory that buying more codes adds everything else, except all of the new features. Yet you say "You can absolutely purchase additional codes now, and any benefits that these new codes bring will simply be added to your existing account." CONFUSING!
FYI Sumolings: I have updated the Spreadsheet above in the light of Ben's answer, I believe it now correctly shows what happens to account limmits if early adopters with 5 codes from the 2019 deal stack some new codes, also I think you will get Thrivecart and API access if you stack 5 new codes too
