Thank you for being so candid. If you’re trying to create a simple solo event and the platform keeps taking you through more and more layers, then we’ve made that first experience harder than it needs to be.

At its simplest, an event in HeySummit only needs three things: at least one talk, one speaker and one ticket. HeySummit can do an enormous amount beyond that, which is valuable when you need it, but much of it is optional and shouldn’t get in the way of creating your first event.

That’s something we’re actively working to improve. Our focus is on creating a much simpler guided path for first-time event creators, while keeping the more advanced options out of the way until they’re actually needed. The power should be there when you want it, not become an obstacle when you don’t.

We’re also developing a new AI event assistant that will help people create and manage their events through a conversation, rather than needing to work out which section of the dashboard to visit or which settings matter.
