I bought Highlighted.ai expecting real AI monitoring — automatic tracking of mentions and brand visibility across AI platforms. Unfortunately, that’s not what the tool delivers. Instead, you have to write your own prompts, and the system only runs them occasionally. That’s not discovery or monitoring, it’s just repeating what you already told it.

The core problem is accuracy: it doesn’t track keywords or brand names properly and often produces results that are completely irrelevant. For a product meant to monitor brand visibility and positioning, this is a fundamental flaw. On top of that, the dashboard shows little to no useful reporting. Even though my brand appears in Google’s AI overview, Highlighted.ai reports nothing.

In practice, it feels like a half-baked product with no clear use case. For one of my sites, I can see our position in ChatGPT’s AI overviews manually, but the tool remains clueless. At this stage, I’m not confident it’s worth keeping — it simply doesn’t fulfill the purpose it promises.
