This is so much more than a screen recorder.

I naively purchased tier 2 the last time the deal was available, thinking it would just be a great replacement for my monthly Loom subscription.

When I realised what Hippo Video could actually do, I was kicking myself for not getting tier 3. Needless to say I was so happy to see Hippo Video return recently.

My favourite feature has to be the (recently updated) Sales Pages. There are premade ready-to-use templates, or you can create your own. They are basically landing pages that you can insert your recorded videos into.

The player itself is very customizable. You can allow comments, reactions, downloads, changes of playback speed and can set whether to autoplay or not. You can customise the player colour and even add your logo! There's an option for password-protected videos and expiration too.

Organisation is made easy with Hippo Video. You can store videos within (multiple) Folders and also add multiple Tags to each video.

Something which I didn't even know I needed but is excellent is the ability to add CTAs, polls, lead gen forms and links within your videos!

Hippo Video also comes with the ability to edit your videos with their pro-editor. Haven't dived into this yet too much but you can add images, narration, audio, text etc. Clip and crop video clips. Plus more features than you would expect.

The macOS app is great. Simple and I prefer it to the Chrome extension as there is no brief flickering when switching tabs etc. The only thing I wish we could do is name our video from the macOS app. Maybe a place to write a title before you hit Record?

As for the screen recording, it works seamlessly. You can markup your screen (also using keyboard shortcuts). You can emphasise clicks, draw/highlight your screen, focus on certain parts (dims the rest of the screen). Recordings can also be paused and easily cancelled (rather than having to finish then delete).

I love that you get notified (via iOS app too) when someone watches a video you sent them. The iOS app even lets you record and send videos (with your teleprompter scripts!)

I've barely touched the surface of what Hippo Video can do, but I am looking forward to diving deeper and using the Campaign feature soon, to send personalised outreach at scale with the Google Sheets integration.

Overall I am so happy with Hippo Video and it is going to prove to be an invaluable software I use daily within my business.
