No offense, AppSumo, but knock it off with making these hyperbolic parallels between Select deals and the biggest competitors in the market when there is effectively nothing linking the two in any meaningful way.
What do I mean by this? Landbot has a visual workflow with a plethora of actions that can be taken by the users and the bot, Hiver does not offer that same breadth.
Hiver is more akin to Continually, though Continually offers more as well. Hiver well and truly just wants to collect the user's information then crawl back into the corner of your page without any further engagement or interaction. In products like Landbot, you can create entire intricate networks of actions and journeys for the user to dive into. Hiver is effectively replacing your contact form with a chatbot, especially given how bare the integrations list is at the moment. There's no live chat, conditional logic, anything that you would typically find as a creature comfort of a chatbot, which is a really, really weird decision.
I well and truly have a hard time assessing this product's value because it doesn't do anything more than your typical form (those at least come with conditional logic and routing these days) and it doesn't do everything a chatbot (especially Landbot) can do. The ONLY novel aspect of Hiver is that it validates emails within the bot - that's it. For some, they might see value in that versus having to scrub their email lists, but for users who use blockers, such as myself, you will never see the widget in the first place to submit such a lead, which is why I always, always, ALWAYS include an embedded form on the site, which, once again, is more capable in practically every way apart from validation.
I have not seen a way to update the icon for the bot and it appears as though we're stuck with the "powered by" branding, so those are also two cons. I also experienced issues when trying to select a time slot within the bot, selecting a calendar date was not an issue, but the time would not stay expanded so that I could select a custom time and I just had to submit the default time.
All in all, this is effectively an email validation tool in the form of a widget that can ask arbitrary questions and give you data, but everything beyond that is on you and you will receive no help from the chatbot whatsoever to further qualify the lead or ensure they're placed in the correct bucket for you. If all you need is a lead capture tool, then this is it, but if you're expecting a Landbot alternative like it says in the description - HA!

Hi there,
Thanks for your honest review!
I love to work with this type of feedback since I believe it helps us to stay on the target.
Yes- Hiver’s main feature is real-time email verification and the product needs more integrations.
We believe that having conversations with the best leads is the key to higher conversion rates.
Personally speaking, I don’t really think the word “alternative to...
