Q: Automatic Thumbnail Cropping

When I publish directly on LinkedIn, I can upload a thumbnail with dimensions of 1920×1080 (16:9 ratio) without any issues. However, when scheduling through Hopper, I’m required to crop the thumbnail—it only seems to accept dimensions around 311×549, which significantly alters the composition and cuts off key elements.

Is there a way to either upload a custom thumbnail in the original aspect ratio or adjust settings to avoid forced cropping?

A: Hey there! 🌟

Thanks for bringing this up about LinkedIn thumbnails! I totally understand how frustrating it can be when your carefully designed thumbnails get cropped unexpectedly.

The good news is that Hopper HQ should actually support your original video's aspect ratio and sizes, including those 16:9 (1920×1080) thumbnails you mentioned. What you're experiencing doesn't sound like our normal designated behavior! 🤔
Since this seems like a specific technical hiccup, we'd love to take a closer look. Could you reach out to us through our in-app support channel? If you send us:
• The video you're trying to post
• The thumbnail you'd like to use

Our team can diagnose exactly what's happening and either:
• Fix any bug that might be causing this issue
• Walk you through the proper steps if there's a different way to achieve what you need

We want to make sure your LinkedIn posts look exactly the way you intend them to! No important elements should be getting cut off. 📱✨

Cheers,
Ali

The original video's aspect ratio is not 16:9 (1920×1080). Do thumbnails have to align with the original video's aspect ratio in order to not get cropped? Not the case in Native Linkedin. I will reach out to support.
