Q: Hi, I am firmly in the white label camp on this otherwise great product.

I need to be able to use my own domain(s) for the URL. You have said you are looking into this but categorically said in one post you were too busy to look at this kind of feature for the LTD offer. Which is it?

Can the hrportal logo be replaced with our own?

We don't want emails going out to our employee's with powered by hrportal on the bottom of them? None of our employees are going to purchase your product so why advertise to them?

I would be looking at 10 stacks but would need more that 1 administrator per stack but I think you have already answered that.

I hope you can work on these challenges and if so we will look forward to working with you.

All the very best.

A: Hi Euan,

Thanks a lot for your interest in HR Partner.
Providing CNAMEs is something we may look at in the future, but we cannot guarantee at this stage. So, if you are going to buy this deal, you need to do so on the basis that CNAMEs are not provided.

In general, our branding is very subtle and in the last 4 years our clients have not had any issues related to this.

We can help you with the restrictions on adminstrators though - please email us about this once you have set up your account.

Flona, I don't necessarily require white-label, but your answer is quite different from some answers from a couple of days ago. Perhaps HRpartner should clarify. Here's a prior reply from HRpartner:

Hello again brockettev,

Yes, we have been slammed with a tsunami of requests for CNAME capability 😆, so our engineers are looking at this as a matter of priority this week. If we can get it happening, we will announce it here.

Hi Chris,

Perhaps I can clarify. I was probably a little overeager in my post that you quoted. We had never intended to provide CNAME capability in HR Partner. It wasn't on any roadmap of ours at all. However, the number of requests from Sumo-lings made us think about it a bit more, so I promised to investigate if this could in fact be possible to do.

Unfortunately, during our investigation, we think there are technical limitations with our hosting provider around providing SSL certificates for CNAME addresses pointed at their servers, and because safety and security is paramount to us, I don't think we will be able to provide CNAME redirection until our hosting provider can come up with a solution on their end.

I am learning the hard way that even mentioning that we are looking into something can be taken as a promise of sorts that we *are* actually going to do it, so we have decided to change the language on here to say 'No' as our first response from now on, even if it is something we are taking a deeper look at.

Thank you for understanding.

Honestly, I think Fiona is not being responsive to requests and considerations of Sumolings. Fiona sounds more of a gatekeeper and of take-it or leave-it kinda snubish which does no good to the brand.
It may be better served with Devan responding to these requests, concerns and considerations.
These are genuine considerations and deserves better response approach.

I don't think this is a fair assessment at all. Both Fiona and I are co-founders and stakeholders of this business, and are trying to answer the queries coming up here directly, rather than offloading to any of our other team members to respond to customers.

That is one of our strengths of our company, that we both talk to customers directly to understand exactly what they want, rather than delegate this task to junior team members.

The AppSumo launch has brought up a bunch of questions and feedback that we weren't expecting. In the 4+ years that we have been running HR Partner, none of our existing customers had brought these scenarios to us, nor have we ever had an LTD deal before, so some of these questions are new, and require some serious thinking or investigation on our part before we can respond.

We think that we have both been quite up front, candid and approachable, and answered your questions to the best of our ability and knowledge, and where we don't know the answers, we were prepared to put some work in to find out for everyone.

By the same token, we also understand that HR Partner might not be a good fit for everyone, and we know that sometimes saying "No" would be the better solution for both parties in the long run. I apologise if that may have offended some sumo-lings, but we have a duty of care to build a long term, sustainable business. To do that means we cannot keep 100% of everyone happy 100% of the time, and we definitely cannot say 'yes' to every opportunity or suggestion that comes our way.
