Genius product with potential
Hy.page has a lot of potential. At first, I was a little overwhelmed with all the options, but in truth, it is still very simple to set up your main links page and to start a simple blog post.
Overall, this is a great platform, with lots of potential, as I said earlier. I hope they continue building and following their roadmap because it is a great service to all those who are interested in selling digital products.
On the blog, I'm not sure if I'm missing the option or not, but don't see a way to display the "category" options for visitors. I'm not looking for a fancy blog platform, but would still like a way to organize my content for my visitors.
The user guide for connecting with your domain name was a good start, but needed a little more detail. I use NameCheap, which is slightly different for setting up your CNAME, so their GoDaddy example didn't help much.
After I finally got my domain name verified in the settings' area in Hy.page dashboard, I failed to scroll all the long way down to the bottom of the page where it says to "update your settings" so it took a long while to figure out why my domain name still wasn't working to display my page.
Yes, it seems like it should be common sense, but if they had put a little reminder to "Please update your settings" directly under the Domain Verification part, it would have saved me quite a bit of frustration. I literally almost refunded because I was a bit stressed. Ha! (And I had contacted support a day prior, but they only redirected me back to following the instructions. Sigh.
(The support was a little slow in response to begin with, but they may be a little overwhelmed right now with requests, and in all fairness, I think I submitted the request on a Sunday, so perhaps there was no one in office.)
Oh, one other thing... If I choose to use my main domain name to be displayed for my links page, it seems that I cannot use my main domain in connection with the blog / member content area. It seems like I must use hy.page/xxx for this area. Perhaps I'm wrong about this?? I've tried several times to change this.
Overall, I think this is a winner. Seems like a good investment. If you're looking for a simplistic way to offer digital content, then this is a fun, creative option.
Wishes:
- Integration with SendFox
- Automatic notification of new posts sent to visitors, who subscribe to your blog content. (but they are not an email marketing platform, so I realize this will probably not happen).
- A few more design template options
- A good, but simple option to organize blog content for visitors.
- More control of internal links (You can only choose the term "blog" or "members" and doesn't seem like you can use your main domain name "IF" you're already using it for your links page.)
- A resizing tool for the images you display in your blog content.
- I do wish I could display my image text logo at the top instead of just selecting text with a font choice (but it still looks nice).

May 9, 2024Amazing feedback and review, thank you so much.
Some great points in here that we can add to the feature requests. You are correct, some of these things like save reminders, etc are all small details that make a big difference we will be working on these for sure.
