Q: Hello!

Congrats on being here!

Few questions. Appreciate if you could answer as clearly and in as much detail as possible:

1) How does wire framing happen?

2) How similar/different/better is Hypi compared to Adalo & Beezer?

3) How does collaboration work? Can multiple users be logged in and collaborating simultaneously?

4) In your experience since being around ~ 2018, how technical do users have to be? For example, can a high school student with no coding background create a basic mindfulness app?

5) How can it be reviewed by external members before publishing (without external’s having to create an account with Hypi)

Thank you and all the very best!

A: 1) hmm, not sure what wire framing would be when it comes to app design...a wire frame is normally pre building the app right? Before or after the design but before building the app itself?

If instead, you mean how does putting a design together work. Most things you would work with is a Widget of some kind, putting a design together is done using widgets. Even text in the app is done with widgets. There are over 150 widgets currently, so normally one would look at the design and decide to break it down into smaller parts e.g. using Row, Column, TextButton, IconButton, Bade widgets etc

2) I think there are many similarities between Hypi and both. A big difference is likely in the technology, Hypi started by building a scalable backend that could be used to build apps for a wide range of use cases, others started by building an app designer that then integrated with third party backends to support them so you'll find most things your app needs in Hypi doesn't require a subscription to a 3rd party backend provider where as it may in others...I'm sure I could go on

3) Currently it is not very good for collaborating with multiple users. This is a roadmap item we plan to get to.

4) We've been around since 2018 providing a backend as a service platform. The visual app builder is new, to use the backend platform a student with no coding background would struggle quite a lot. To use the mobile app editor/designer, a student with no coding background could build a basic mindfulness app but they would need to at least read some of the docs. My own child is now able to build simple guessing games without help, it took me a few sessions sitting down with him and showing him the basics but then he was off. He's still not able to create very advance designs from scratch but that requires more reasoning than I think a 9yr old can manage...we're working on having a massive library of templates so they won't have to but that's a few months off

5) This is another roadmap item but we have an ETA. It's going to be possible some time in May (next month) to create preview links where users can interact with the app, take screenshots, annotate and comment...it's already in the works basically so stay tuned
