Not bad
After not having so good experience with the free version of this tool, I decided to purchase it and give it a try. Tried downloading at night, when servers are not busy. Download speed, single stream topped at around 56 megabytes per second; upload for around 3 files at the same time around 48 megabytes/sec.
Minus one taco for buggy windows client that locks my Explorer, and when copying files, shows the error message "insufficient resources". But in the grand scheme of things, Icedrive team will fix it at some point, and the storage space will remain. During daytime it will likely be slower, last time free account gave me around 7 Mb/sec.
I already have 2Tb of the PCloud (purchased for around $250 on their Black Friday special) that I use for cold storage, this deal is great for warm storage in case you want to forego carrying USB key. If you already have PCloud, you may want to keep your cold storage, and warm/hot storage separately.
Lastly, it seems that the download limit applies only to the public downloads, and that the user that is logged in doesn't have any upload or download limits. Icedrive team, please reply if this is not the case. And thank you for a good deal!

May 9, 2024Hey there,
Thanks for deciding to giving us a try!
Glad things are well with your speed. Regarding the bugs you are experiencing with the Windows app, if you could post a support ticket with some more detailed information, we should be able to get this seen to in the next update!
You are correct, the transfer/bandwidth restrictions only apply to publicly shared files, if the limit is reached the public access to your files will no longer be active for the month, but your personal account use will not be affected or restricted!
Kind regards
