Still undecided...
I've purchased two codes and still reviewing ideanotes to see how well it will work. The concept is 'simple'... provide a means of collecting ideas and getting them enhanced, rated, and processed. Uservoice has somewhat the same objectives, and you can also do it with various tools such as Trello, Feedier, or maybe even Freedcamp. I like that Ideanote really is focusing on collection of ideas, but the linkage between gathering an idea and transitioning it into a task to work on and track is missing. My concern is that this just ends up being another tool in the workflow and maybe even abandoned due to being too time consuming to transition into a project tool.
But, for now I'm giving it 3 tacos due to the dearth of integrations, and becasue for Ideanote's stated usage model, it seems to be pretty nice. So it's average for me.
My initial thoughts... Pros
1. User interface does seem to be good. After poking around the system for a short while I think I was able to grasp many of the concepts and operational flow.
2. I love having the option of putting a widget on client sites.
3. Being able to customize the idea templates is cool. You can edit the idea template even after you have started collecting ideas. (Caveat ... apparently ideas that are already collected can't be edited to add information into newly added fields.)
My initial thoughts... Cons
1. Integrations, integrations, integrations. Severely lacking. What I want is integration into project management software (e.g. Plutio, Freedcamp). It would also be nice to have integration into CRMs such as ActiveCampaign so that if someone leaves an idea they can be added to AC with a tag which would then kick off an automation with which we could update submitters.
2. Would be nice to have 'labels' that we can put onto ideas such as "High, Med, Low" for a priority, or maybe a sub-project label. Just free-form labels/tags that we can create and assign to organize.
