IKI.AI - Plus Exclusive Reviews

Pros:
1) Beautiful UI/UX Design: I love the fact that it 'does' look like my own digital library. I can name "collection" on the left side bar. Very intuitive and easy to navigate.
2) Video transcription: It can access Youtube, produces transcription, and you can 'chat' with the video.

Cons:
1) Free alternatives: NotebookLM and ChatPDF. In fact, I tried the same exact prompts in NotebookLM (Gemini) - they produced better summary, insights, blog content, and even podcast.

As my purpose is only on 'chatting with documents', NotebookLM is sufficient for me.

I really like the user interface of IKI.AI though. If they integrate with Gemini I might return.

The product has al lot of potential to be a second brain, a vary wide brain, to do (internet) research en writing on things, but is is not an finished product yet. It misses an app, but that is coming and the extension could use some extra possibilities. The Ai is on par with what people can expect and the possibility to choose between LLM's is a good get. I do not know if there is some additional prompting is going on in the backend, but there is a clear understanding of language in reading notes and well given responses.

Like with any Ai it is important to know how to ask the right questions. To me the interface is a bit more for alpha minded people than beta's like me that likes Fabric a that more, but that has lesser Ai possibilities. It works just as good in English to me as it does on Dutch text and responses. It can give good advice on writings of my own to improve writing skills and artikels.

I got tier 3. So far it’s pretty good. I’ve noticed that it doesn’t seem to globally reference all my documents. I’d need to correct it saying “there are more”, but it’s a great start! It seems to respond to my requests as normal AI assistants referencing documents, but at a larger scale once it recognizes all of them.

I bought IKI.ai at Tier 2 for a rather large project - accessing the history of my city's council and committees, meetings of which are now kept on YouTube. Since the city has stopped producing useful minutes, minutes that actually describe what happened, rather than just a record of decisions, this seemed to be the only way to access the history.
After about 15 days of loading it up I've found
- YouTube linkup is generally seamless and transcription is quickly done
- There is a limit in IKI on YouTube videos = 5 hours. Most of my videos are shorter than that but a few are longer - one as long as 9.5 hours.
- The IKI team has been corresponding with me on the issue but there is no fix as yet
- Yes, help IS available from IKI, despite what one review said. Write to team@iki.ai
A few improvements that would make the transcriptions more useful:
- Break the transcription when the voice changes and also when the voice pauses or seems to change subject
- Allow the voices to be labeled with a name and keep track of the names in my user space

I'm sure I have more to say as I use it. I will be testing it thoroughly before my 60 days is up and will make a decision then as to whether to keep it.

-Similar to My Memo AI, this app is useless, but My Memo AI is still slightly better.
• My Memo AI at least has a clean interface and a mobile app.
• It does not force annoying “social” integrations or require following people, which is unnecessary for a supposed “second brain” app for personal or professional knowledge management.
• The only advantage this app has over My Memo AI is its functional Chrome extension.
• Recommendation:
• Use Google NotebookLM instead:
• It is free and far more powerful than both Iki.ai and My Memo AI.
• There’s no reason to pay for this app’s LTD or subscription when Google provides a superior option for free.

Issues with this App:
1. No security measures:
• Lacks Two-Factor Authentication (2FA).
• Google NotebookLM secures knowledge with Google Account 2FA.
2. Poor AI performance:
• Acceptable results with text-based notes but fails badly with PDFs.
3. Social integration is unnecessary:
• Focus should be on personal, work, or professional notes, not on others’ collections.
• Forces users to follow people by default.
• No option to disable these useless social features.
4. Limited functionality compared to alternatives:
• Cannot select sources for chats, notes, and files.
• Chat features are far inferior to Google NotebookLM and ChatGPT, which are free and professional.
5. No mobile app:
• A glaring omission for a modern productivity tool.

Conclusion:
• This is just another useless LTD offering nothing notable compared to what established companies offer for free. Wrong AU results with PDFs and other types of DOCs.

Not recommended as an LTD or subscription-based.
