I've tried other services similar to iLert, but they all fell short of my expectations. iLert is everything I was looking for and more. What is really impressive is the ability to create status pages (although I wish they offered more than 10 with this deal). For several clients, we manage multiple websites, and I was able to provide each one their own status page that shows the uptime of all their websites, as well as reported incidents. They can even subscribe to their respective page to receive emails when an incident is reported. The CNAME setup was a breeze, so the status pages for these clients even has my firm's domain. Escalation setup was a snap, too. So far, this is really impressive. It makes my small firm (we host and manage 75 websites) appear to have a huge backend IT department working around the clock.
I use iLert for my agency to manage on-call and inform customers about issues. The initial setup took me a few hours, because we're using different monitoring tools and a ticketing tool for customers requests. Now all critical alerts and tickets go through iLert.
I love it how status pages are neatly integrated with my monitoring tools and uptime checks, so can I manage alerts and communicate incidents from a single application.
Their mobile app is great, too. It lets me change escalation policies, add overrides to on-call schedules and change notification channels.
And their on-call scheduling is super advanced. We use recurring schedules. Once setup, the on-call calendar will be generated automatically.
