A: Hi there,

I don't see a reason why not. But keep in mind that InPrivy is meant for temporary storage and keeping your secrets available for long periods of time defeats its purpose.

We use InPrivy as a focused secure-sharing layer and would like to integrate it into a governed workflow without turning it into a larger portal. Is there a supported API/webhook path to create a share, set/extend/revoke expiration, read current state, and receive or retrieve view/access events? It would be especially useful to have stable share IDs plus an audit/readback endpoint so automation can verify state without scraping the UI.
Could you please clarify: 1. In which country is your company legally based, and which privacy and data protection laws apply to your service? 2. In which countries is customer data stored and processed, including shared files, backups and logs? Which hosting providers do you use? 3. Can customers choose their data hosting location? If so, which locations are available under the AppSumo deal? 4. Is any customer data transferred to, or accessible by staff or service providers in, other countries? As a UK customer, I’d also appreciate confirmation of how you comply with the UK GDPR and EU GDPR, where applicable.
I am considering InPrivy for sharing confidential startup pitch decks and intellectual property with investors. Could you clarify: 1. Are files encrypted client-side before upload, with zero-knowledge encryption, so even InPrivy staff cannot decrypt them? 2. Can recipients view PDF pitch decks directly in their browser without downloading the original? 3. Can I disable downloading, printing and copying? 4. Can I restrict access to specific verified email addresses and revoke it after viewing? 5. Are uploaded documents ever used for AI training, analytics or third-party processing? 6. Does the $39 lifetime plan include all these capabilities?
I would love the ability to create a secret from a photo, so that I can take a photo of part of my computer screen, crop it to the text of interest, then save the cropped image and the OCR of the cropped image as a secret.
