Far too basic, it's just not worth the money
Let me first say that I've used FullStory, Inspectlet, LuckyOrange, Hotjar, and others before. I wanted to love this one, but it's just lacking too many features compared to competing products that I can't see why anyone would use this. Frankly, it should be free.
Cons:
-Unable to assign email address or other identifier to the session (really? this is super important!)
-Shows the live visitors on your website, but unable to actually WATCH the session live - it just displays the number of visitors.. currently on the website and the browser info, that's it.
-Lacking session event detail - was it a click, was it a page view, was it... a mouse move? Who knows. No timeline anywhere - just a number for events.
-Heatmaps for me were completely broken, just a message to "contact support"
-Extremely basic filtering/sorting options for recordings (what about sorting by pages visited or session length?)
-Even viewing the list of recordings is not intuitive and lacks detail.. all you get is Country/Duration/Date. Let us control the columns and have more data like whether they are a returning visitor, where the visitor came from, pages visited, # clicks, etc.)
-No form analytics
-No javascript error logging
-No event insights (user clicking a blank space expecting an element to work, rage clicking)
-No data export or report options
Sorry, there is no pros list because there's nothing unique about this product - it's extremely basic. I have to give this a hard pass.... maybe in a few years it will better, but based on the roadmap and beta like state of the product i'm not willing to make that future investment.

May 9, 2024Thanks for the feedback Sumo-ling! The reason for us being simple and is that our main target audience is people who are looking for analytics that can help them give an overview about their visitors and not something that is way too hard or needs a webmaster to understand.
Though I agree with you that we can add much more to it and we already have a roadmap to do so but that won't mean we will have every feature in the market as that will simply destroy our motive behind building this tool as we want to keep it simple, straight for even the first time users. Of course, that doesn't mean it will be suitable for all and hence in those situations we recommend another sophisticated tool.
We have things like more details in live analytics, more filter options, click/scroll events on the recordings, export heatmaps, mark recordings as viewed, new recording interface etc already being worked on and an update will be pushed soon. All the details are on our roadmap:

Regarding, the session event details; we already have a section called "Timelines" where you can check out events like mouse clicks, scrolls, resize etc and can directly play that users recording too.
There are dozens of tools out there that our sophisticated and have every big feature which many won't even use and many will find very useful but we are very clear with our approach and future plans. As you may have already seen, we have got upcoming features like knowledge bases, live chat, human handoff bots which will let Insignal customers have more in a single place and not just analytics as our motive is not to be just an analytical tool and for being a lifetime deal, it is going to be worth every buck!
