Q: Quick Question Regarding SMS Credits
Hi Oscar. Could you please explain how the credits work in Instasent SMS? I’m planning to purchase the highest tier with 1,400 credits. Does 1 credit equal 1 SMS, no matter how many words the message contains? So if I have 25 clients and each client needs to send out 40 follow up messages each month, would 1,400 credits per month be enough to serve these clients?
It would be great if you could explain how the credits work as simply as if you were explaining it to a 10-year-old. Thanks so much!

Thanks for reaching out!
1400 credits equals 1400 SMS in the USA / Canada. The maximum length of an SMS is 160 characters for Latin characters (GSM), which are reduced to 70 if the text contains Unicode (UTF-8) characters. If you go over this limit, you will be charged 2 or more SMS, depending on the number of characters.
Example sending SMS to USA or Canada:
If you have 25 clients sending 40 messages per month (as long as they stay on the 160 characters limit per SMS), you have 25 * 40 = 1000 SMS per month. So, you will be fine within the 1400 credits.
Please, don't hesitate to ask me if you are still in doubt.
Best,
